35 years of Flautando Köln – Flautando celebrates its stage anniversary with a grand birthday concert together with its audience!
At 11 o'clock, Flautando invites you to a celebration concert followed by a reception – for remembering, marveling, and celebrating together.
For 35 years, Flautando Köln has stood for joy of playing, diversity of sound, and curious musicianship. Our anniversary program looks back at special moments in our ensemble's history – and simultaneously shows where our musical journey is headed.
A highlight is our genre-crossing music theater piece “JACK & JILL,” created thanks to the ensemble scholarship Neustart Kultur from the German Music Council. With texts by psychiatrist Ronald D. Laing and in creative collaboration with Heikko Deutschmann (acting) and Albrecht Maurer (music), a fascinating and moving stage work has developed.
A second focus of the program is “LIGHT AND DARKNESS,” together with Holger Schäfer – harpist, singer, and storyteller. Words and music intertwine here into a poetic quest for the mysterious between darkness and light.
Throughout the morning, Dieter Schiffer, chief speaker of WDR, will guide us, humorously and personally reflecting on 35 years of ensemble history in a discussion round.
Additionally, Torsten Müller on drums and percussion joins us as a musical companion – a familiar, inspiring presence since our first concerts.
For the anniversary, the ensemble also presents their new CD “Light and Darkness” – freshly released and available at the concert.
Celebrate with Flautando sound, passion, and zest for life – 35 years of Flautando Köln!
The concert is based on donations, so entry is free.
