Wenn du ein Melodie-Instrument spielst und deine kompositorischen Fähigkeiten und Improvisationen verbessern möchtest, bist du in diesem Workshop genau richtig. Tauche mit der in Berlin lebenden Jazz-Musikerin Ariel Bart ein in die faszinierende Welt der Improvisation und Komposition. Du wirst lernen, wie du spannende Motive aufbaust und entwickelst, Rhythmen transformierst und Phrasierungen so gestaltest, dass deine Melodien lebendiger und einprägsamer werden.
Teilnehmende:
fortgeschrittene Spielerinnen und Spieler mit und ohne Bühnenerfahrung, die ihr Verständnis für den Aufbau von Melodien vertiefen und einen persönlicheren, ausdrucksstärkeren Ansatz für die Improvisation entwickeln möchten – unabhängig von Musikstil und Instrument.
Instrumente:
alle Melodie-Instrumente (Mundharmonika, Flöten, Akkordeon, Geige etc)

Ariel Bart spielt chromatische Mundharmonika mit einer großen Freude am Entdecken und Ausloten der musikalischen Möglichkeiten ihres Instruments. Im Mittelpunkt ihrer Arbeit steht der gefühlvolle Klang der chromatischen Mundharmonika. Sie kombiniert Elemente der westlichen klassischen Musik, Improvisation und Klänge aus dem Nahen Osten und schafft so eine Balance zwischen Intimität und emotionaler Tiefe einerseits und experimentellem Geist andererseits.
Im September erschien ihr drittes Album „After Silence“, das in der Jazz-Szene große Aufmerksamkeit erfährt.

If you are playing a melody instrument, and want to improve your compositional skills and improvisation, this workshop is just right for you. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of improvisation and composition with Berlin-based jazz musician Ariel Bart. You will learn how to build and develop exciting motifs, transform rhythms and shape phrasing in such a way that your melodies become more lively and memorable.
Participants:
advanced players with and without stage experience who want to deepen their understanding of melody construction and develop a more personal, expressive approach to improvisation – regardless of musical style and instrument.

about Ariel Bart
Ariel Bart plays the chromatic harmonica with a great joy in discovering and exploring the musical possibilities of her instrument. The focus of her work is the soulful sound of the chromatic harmonica. She combines elements of Western classical music, improvisation and sounds from the Middle East, creating a balance between intimacy and emotional depth on the one hand and an experimental spirit on the other.
Her third album, After Silence, was released in September and is receiving a lot of attention on the jazz scene.

Wie nähert man sich respektvoll den traditionellen Spielweisen eines Sonny Terry, DeFord Bailey oder Billy Bizor? Und wie wird aus anfänglichem Nachahmen eine persönliche Interpretation? In diesem Blues-Workshop für Fortgeschrittene Blues-Harp-Spielerinnen und -Spieler unterstützt Adam Sikora euch dabei, große Licks der alten Meister gezielt nachzuspielen. Praktische Übungen und Beispiele werden dann helfen die gelernten Spieltechniken in andere Blues-, Folk- oder traditionelle Spielweisen zu übertragen. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt wird Sikora auf Übungen zur Verbesserung von Timing, Groove und rhythmischer Sicherheit legen sowie auf eine saubere Intonation. Ein ausdrucksstarker Ton ist Grundlage jeden Spiels und bringt erlernte Spieltechniken – ganz gleich ob traditionell oder modern – erst zum Klingen.

Adam Sikora
Adam Sikora hat bereits früh die Spieltechniken von Sonny Terry, Johnny Woods oder Billy Bizor studiert. Allen modernen Spielweisen zum Trotz hat er ihr Spiel adaptiert, weiterentwickelt und den traditionellen Sound mit seiner eigenen Seele gefüllt. Der in Berlin lebende Sikora gründete zusammen mit Luis "Gigi" de Cicco die Band Juke Joint Smokers und spielt regelmäßig in unterschiedlichen Formationen auf internationalen Blues-Festivals. 2026 veröffentlicht er sein neues Album mit dem schwedischen Gitarristen Andesh Eck.

How can one approach the traditional playing styles of Sonny Terry, DeFord Bailey or Billy Bizor with respect? And how does initial imitation develop into a personal interpretation? In this blues workshop for advanced harmonica players, Adam Sikora will help you how to play the great licks of the old masters. Practical exercises and examples will help you transfer the playing techniques you’ve learnt to other blues, folk or traditional styles. The course content includes, amongst other things: Adam Sikora will place particular emphasis on exercises to improve timing, groove and rhythmic confidence, as well as on clean intonation. An expressive tone is the foundation of any performance and is what brings learned playing techniques – whether traditional or modern – to life.
