For the third studio concert of the season, the two top South Korean musicians Yoerae Kim and Hyunhee Hwang were secured. Although their planned appearance two years ago did not take place, they are finally to be seen on the music island. And the wait for these two young musical talents has been worth it! Yoerae Kim received her first violin lessons in South Korea at the age of four. From 1999 to 2007, she was a young student at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Budapest, and she graduated in 2012 from the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim. From 2012, she was initially a scholarship holder, later a tutti violinist in the first violins of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bayerischer Rundfunk Munich. She also learned what it means to lead an entire orchestra when she was engaged as the 1st concertmaster of the State Theater Kassel in the 2017/18 season. From 2018 to 2021, Kim dedicated herself intensively to her solo and chamber music career, earning several awards. In November 2019, she made her solo debut in Germany with Alban Berg's Violin Concerto. She was a scholarship holder of the Albert-Eckstein Foundation, which provided her with a violin by Francesco Gobetti (1720). In 2020, she was awarded the Karlsruhe University Prize. Since 2021, Yoerae Kim has been employed as the 2nd concertmaster at the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate. The pianist Hyunhee Hwang was born in Seoul, South Korea. She began playing the piano at the age of six. From 2014, she studied at the University of Music Karlsruhe and graduated with distinction. Since 2017, she has studied piano solo in the soloist examination program, and since 2021, piano chamber music in the soloist examination program. In addition to her studies, she accompanied students as a répétiteur for Pre-College Student at the University of Music Karlsruhe, and she was a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and a lecturer in piano at the University of Music Karlsruhe. Currently, she has a substitute position for string accompaniment and works as an assistant in piano and piano chamber music in Karlsruhe.
