As the first theater, we present the novel of an extraordinary woman as a stage adaptation: In WIR SPIELEN ALLTAG, Israeli author and peace activist Lizzie Doron tells of her everyday life between Berlin and its partner city Tel Aviv since October 7, 2023. She speaks of a daily life that does not exist and yet continues, of encounters with the bereaved, of political discussions at the hairdresser, of fading memorial events, and the silence on the phone with her Palestinian friend.
Through short episodes from daily life, a disturbing, chaotic reality is revealed that poses an unexpected challenge to the moral compass and compassion, redefining concepts like home, friendship, and family. Each day becomes a desperate attempt to hold on to something, to preserve a dream, to remain human.
In close collaboration with Lizzie Doron, successful Israeli director Dori Engel brings the novel to the stage as a music theater piece.
