Blood, Sweat, and ’ears - The bEAR turns 100! (in english)
10 Years. 100 Shows. 1,000 Voices.
What began as an experiment in honesty has grown into one of Berlin’s most beloved stages for true stories, told live in English with nothing held back. Over a thousand stories that made us laugh, cry, reflect, and feel deeply. This milestone show shines a light on what makes THE bEAR so enduring: raw honesty, unexpected humor, fierce courage, and the kind of resonance that lingers long after the mic is turned off.
The theme of the night is persistence, transformation, and the long road to triumph: in the quiet moments, the hard years, and the unexpected turns that shape a life. This night is about the long haul: the mistakes that taught us, the challenges that shaped us, the moments we thought we couldn’t go on—but did. Through carefully chosen tales and spontaneous ones drawn from the hat, we’ll hear about persistence, growth, and the strange and beautiful ways people change.
We’ll tell these true, personal stories told without notes in English, the shared language of the diverse community that has made THE bEAR feel like home.
