BLACK WATER COUNTY - (UK) – Pop-Punk/Folk
Since 2013, the five musicians have been mixing their own brew of pop-punk and folk, continuing their mission to provide the masses with cheer and moshing by tirelessly touring throughout the UK and Europe.
Inspired by their favorite punk bands they grew up with in childhood, combined with their long-standing affinity for folk legends, the fusion had formed. With the driving force of drums, bass, and energetic guitar, they meet unwavering banjo, mandolin, and tin whistle melodies, all standing equally on the battlefield.
The debut album "Taking Chances" was released in 2017, and the second album "Comedies and Tragedies" was released three years later during the first lockdown in 2020. The latest release "The Only Life Worth Living" came out in 2023 with four singles, including one featuring guest vocalist Hannah Greenwood from Creeper. All three releases were independently released and produced and mixed by Lewis Johns from The Ranch.
The band has performed at various festivals in the UK, including Cropredy, WOMAD, Boomtown, Beautiful Days, Belladrum, Black Deer, Camp Bestival, as well as hundreds of smaller UK festivals and beyond, including Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and France. In both 2016 and 2018, Black Water County secured their spot on Fireball's "Fuelling the Fire Tour," where they supported Less Than Jake, Flogging Molly, The Bronx, and The Skints.
"But ultimately it was Black Water County who secured a place on stage with Flogging Molly. The six-piece influenced by the Emerald Isle kicked off the first mosh pit of the evening and solidified their status as a favorite of the jury (KERRANG FEATURES - FUELLING THE FIRE TOUR). Sometimes there are gigs where you just pinch yourself and say 'I was there...', and tonight was one of those (ROSS FERRONE, REGENERATION OF THE ROCK).
