It is – alongside the story of the birth of Jesus – probably the most told story of the Advent season: Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The socially critical tale of the old miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited on Christmas Eve by four ghosts and through them rediscovers his humanity, is a classic.
The unscrupulous businessman Scrooge abhors Christmas, and he has no regard for Christian charity. Yet one Christmas night is set to become unforgettable for Scrooge. The old miser is visited by ghosts who want to prompt him to change his ways. Scrooge must change before it's too late for him.
