When brains, courage, and heart come together
Huuuuuuiiiii! A whirlwind blows over the summer festival at Sonnenberg Castle from June 24 to July 20, lifting Dorothy's house into the clouds. The cozy little house whirls through the air, lands in a parallel world called OZ, and flattens the wicked East Witch.
Dorothy suddenly finds herself in a strange and mysterious environment. Quirky witches and cute Munchkins greet her, but she also encounters three particularly unusual characters: a Scarecrow, a Tinman, and a Lion. The Scarecrow has only straw in his head and lacks brains. The Tinman squeaks and wishes for a warm heart in his front steel chest. The Lion has the soul of a fearful mouse and wants to finally know what courage feels like. Dorothy wants to go home to her little dog Toto. There is someone who could help the friends. But what will the dangerous journey to the even more dangerous Wizard of OZ bring?
The book "The Wizard of OZ" by American writer Lyman Frank Baum is already 125 years old and continues to enchant people with its story about friendship, solidarity, and the power of wishing.
A turbulent-poetic production with live music is in the capable hands of the director Wolfgang Vielsack. The enchanting ambiance of the over 800-year-old Sonnenberg Castle will again captivate everyone.
The production is based on the successful book by Lyman Frank Baum.
