Café del Mundo - Guitarize the World
The imagination knows no bounds, and so the two guitar specialists Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian catapult their playing to a new level, presenting a surprisingly limitless Café del Mundo sound. This is reflected in exciting variations, unexpectedly sonorous effects, dark tones, and elegantly pop-like melodies. Jan and Alex want to create a peaceful, tolerant, ecologically sustainable Garden of Eden, a social world for the various forms of life. They have musically succeeded in this long ago. Germany's most successful guitar export delights tens of thousands of concert visitors across Europe each year, garners millions of views on YouTube, and the fan culture has reached rockstar dimensions.
"Our imaginative power is our sharpest tool. With it, we can create a better future," is the credo of the two virtuoso guitarists. History proves them right, and the original compositions and cover arrangements showcase the musical inventiveness of the duo, who use technical possibilities merely to expand the sound spectrum or artistic expression. In each piece, the diversity of the instruments' musical expressiveness can be heard, shining brightly like two supernovas.
Here, a hint of flamenco feeling filters through, there the sound becomes summery-light, the reverb creates a rustling breeze, or the melody is accompanied by a playing technique reminiscent of a mandolin. And the two have also reinterpreted pop classics in a fresh way: Coldplay's Viva la Vida, U2's With or Without You, and Michael Jackson's Earth Song now float weightlessly in a genre-free space. The duo has also freed itself from Spotify with "Guitar Super Nova" and set yet another innovative statement with their self-developed "mundo app." Indeed, anything is possible if you just want it. Café del Mundo is simply always a galactically good listening pleasure!
