He has catapulted to the top of the German-speaking entertainment industry at breathtaking speed over the past five years: GIOVANNI ZARRELLA, singer, moderator & entertainer. With his unmistakable voice, his irresistible Italian charm, his modern interpretations of Italian classics as well as great German and international hits, he has become an absolute superstar in recent years. His passion for music has always been at the center for GIOVANNI ZARRELLA, and at his summer open airs 2024, he thrilled thousands of spectators in sold-out venues. But that’s not all: In 2025, Giovanni Zarrella will release his fourth solo album “UNIVERSO” - for the first time featuring his own self-written titles – pop songs that travel back to the heyday of Italo disco pop of the 80s, produced fresh and timeless, exuding pure positive energy. The previous singles “DANZA”, “FANTASTICO” and “MI PIACE” have heralded the new era. The new album “UNIVERSO” will be released on April 25, 2025, via Warner Music, and the accompanying new single of the same title will already be released on November 8, 2024!
With a mix of Italo classics, the greatest German hits in Italian, as well as his own new music titles, the charismatic entertainer will again embark on a major summer tour in 2025 with his fantastic live band.
GIOVANNI ZARRELLA at his shows means: pure Italian joie de vivre and great entertainment with lots of heart and passion. Since Giovanni Zarrella presented his acclaimed "La vita è bella" solo debut in the summer of 2019, he has been counted among the biggest stars of the current pop/Schlager landscape: Straight to #2 on the album charts in Germany and then for 15 months continuously represented in the top 100, there was plenty of precious metal in between. With his second album “CIAO!”, the sympathetic singer raised the bar even higher and immediately conquered the #1 spot in the German album charts.
But that’s not all: With his own ZDF music show, which premiered successfully in September 2021, he received the next accolade. With over 3.8 million viewers, the first “Giovanni Zarrella Show” won the Saturday night show race. There, Giovanni presents an impressive showcase of his own versatility, his entertainer qualities, combined with dance skills and musicianship – along with many national and international star guests. In 2022, his third album “PER SEMPRE” also reached #1 on the German album charts, and he received the German Television Award in the same year for his performance as a moderator of his own Saturday night show in the category “Best Individual Performance/Moderation Entertainment for The Giovanni Zarrella Show.”
In the summer of 2023, Giovanni played his first open-air headliner tour – with “Eine italienische Sommernacht,” he also filled numerous venues in 2024 and left happy faces everywhere! Additionally, in the fall of 2023, he won the hearts of the audience with his participation as a coach in the 13th season of the popular casting show “The Voice of Germany.” With his charismatic nature, heart, mind, and talent as an entertainer, he impressed both the audience and the contestants alike. His spontaneous duets with the talents and jurors were and are highlights of the shows; with his empathetic and likeable manner, he quickly won the hearts of everyone involved and the viewers.
In the coming summer, Giovanni Zarrella will finally bring sunny Dolce Vita feelings live to the open-air stages of Germany again, musically creating a successful bridge between the greatest classics of the younger German music culture and the language of his parental home, presenting it in a completely new and his very own way. There is especially great anticipation for his own new songs and the new album UNIVERSO, which will celebrate its live premiere in the summer of 2025!!
