Dr. Pop is the doctor for all things musical. He treats with music samples and fascinating music facts. In his live program “Hitverdächtig,” Dr. Pop deciphers which music can save a party, a relationship, and even a life. The audience receives astonishingly funny answers to questions like:



Why do termites chew through wood twice as fast when they hear heavy metal? Why are ten people at a laptop working on a hit today instead of one person with a guitar? Dr. Pop blasts samples of familiar and new hits from music history – from hip hop, rock, pop, schlager, classical to jazz. Dr. Pop makes it audible: for every life situation, there is the right hit.

Dr. Pop studied media sciences and pop music in four pop music metropolises of this world: Manchester, Liverpool, Paderborn, and Detmold. Afterwards, he completed his doctorate on the subjects of terrorism and Orientalism in pop music at Humboldt University in Berlin. He was under police protection for six years. Initially, he thought it was because of the explosive nature of his theses, but it was because Angela Merkel's private apartment was door to door with his music institute. Dr. Pop appears on stage, produces videos, and is heard as a weekly columnist on radioeins from RBB with the column “Dr. Pops Tonstudio.” The column was nominated by the jury of the Grimme Institute for the German Radio Award in the “Best Comedy” category. In Berlin, his radioeins stage show “Dr. Pops Sprechstunde” takes place regularly. With his solo program “Hitverdächtig,” he is touring nationwide. Performances include the Quatsch Comedy Club, Kabarett-Theater Wühlm.use, NightWash, and the senior center in Charlottenburg.
