Träum´ Dir Deine Welt - Konzert zum Muttertag
Muttertagskonzert with Dorothée Kreusch-Jacob and Quint Buchholz
The writer, concert pianist, music educator, and songwriter Dorothée Kreusch-Jacob has opened up the world of music to many children over the years with her books and recordings. Her imaginative books have been translated into several languages and are now an integral part of the standard literature in musical work with children.
As part of the Ottobrunn concerts, she will focus on the book “Sonne, Mond und Abendstern,” published by both with Carl Hanser Verlag, in a musical setting with projected images together with the painter, illustrator, and author Quint Buchholz, known for his internationally successful books. Accompanied by her sons Cornelius Claudio Kreusch and Johannes Tonio Kreusch, both also internationally successful musicians, Dorothée Kreusch-Jacob will sing her songs, while together with Quint Buchholz, who musically complements the family band with his bass, they will tell stories, as Quint Buchholz's touching and profound images bathe the stage in a fantastic world. A concert for the whole family that invites listening, wonder, and sing-along.
The books and recordings of Dorothée Kreusch-Jacob can be found on bestseller lists and have been awarded the German Record Prize, among others. For years, her songs, melodies, and stories have delighted children and their parents and are present in many families' homes. With her meditation music for children, Dorothée Kreusch-Jacob was a trailblazer who made the fascinating world between sound & silence accessible to a broad audience with gentle and soft tones for children. As a painter, illustrator, and author, Quint Buchholz has illustrated over forty books for German and international publishers. He has been awarded numerous prizes, such as the Italian special prize for the best-illustrated children’s book “Premio Letteratura Ragazzi 36,” the American honor award for the best foreign children's book “Mildred L. Batchelder Award,” or the French “Prix Enfantaisie” for the best children's book of the year. The New York Times described his book “Der Sammler der Augenblicke” as one of the best-illustrated books of the year, and Wirtschaftswoche calls him “master of clarity, restraint, and tenderness.” Quint Buchholz has illustrated books for writers such as Jostein Gaarder (Sofies Welt), Lucy and Stephen Hawking, Elke Heidenreich, Amos Oz, or Friedrich Ani and has published numerous of his own texts and books. Since 1982, his images have been seen in over one hundred solo exhibitions.
