The Salzburg choreographer Peter Breuer, who is also well known to the audience in Schweinfurt, is a compelling storyteller of great themes with his ballet evenings. In his double work »Carmen / Boléro«, he again takes on deeply human and touching subjects.
»Carmen« is both an art and cultural figure. She embodies dreams of freedom, adventure, passion, and the unbridled Eros that always dances with death. She is a projection surface and does everything to ensure that it remains so. Breuer has created a gripping narrative ballet based on the novella. He combines the story of Prosper Mérimée with the »Carmen Suite« by Rodion Shchedrin and the music of Radio Tarifa. The spectacular second part of this evening features the finale from his »Boléro«, based on Schnitzler's novella »Der Reigen«. With a special passion that only dance can convey, this choreography showcases the various facets of human relationships. The Europaballet is considered an important breeding ground for young dancers from all over the world and regularly performs worldwide. The concept includes collaboration with international greats of the dance scene. Alongside Renato Zanella, Peter Breuer and Artur Kolmakov are active as permanent choreographers.
