Geheimplan gegen Deutschland & Die Nashörner - Ein Theaterabend für die Demokratie
Part 1: Secret Plan Against Germany
On November 25, 2023, a secret conference, the so-called "Düsseldorf Forum," took place at the Landhaus Adlon on Lake Lehnitz near Potsdam. An "illustrious circle of right-wing extremists" gathered there to devise the "master plan" on how 25 million people could be expelled from Germany. And to raise money for their cause, a lot of money. What else was discussed and planned behind closed doors? Who was present? The "Düsseldorf Forum" was, in fact, not as exclusive as the attendees had envisioned. A courageous team of investigative journalists from the CORREKTIV editorial team researched "undercover," so that the gathering could be very well reconstructed. In this way, we have the unique chance to find out what was discussed there, to form our own opinion: Let’s dive into the "Düsseldorf Forum" 2023 together.

Part 2: The Rhinos
Berenger struggles to live his life more poorly than well: worn out by the monotonous work that seems absurd to him, he seeks distraction in nightlife. His old friend Jeanne, who tries to exert influence, cannot provide him with support. Only Daisy, whom he secretly loves, brings hope into his life. When a rhino is sighted - or was it two? - this initially leads Berenger into conflict with Jeanne and then increasingly into an absurd world where the people around him change, distort, and ultimately transform. They are ruled by cruel, self-centered beings. Only Daisy remains connected to him through love, but does this love endure in light of the changes around them? Ionesco's classic of absurd theater is currently highly relevant and entertainingly highlights the absurdity of our societal handling of crisis situations.
On this theater evening for democracy, the DAT ensemble presents both pieces in a shortened version consecutively on stage. It aims, on the one hand, to inform, but also to encourage everyone to take a stand and advocate for the preservation of our democracy and cultural diversity in Germany.
