Las Sintrenzas - Veranstaltung wurde abgesagt
Gerd Knebel and Carmen Knöll
After two Spanish-language albums by Gerd Knebel alias Gerdo Sintrenza were released in 2022 and 2023, Señor Sintrenza became eager to bring his songs to the stage. For this purpose, he teamed up with percussionist Carmen Knöll alias Carmen Sintrenza to work on the arrangements for the live performances of "Las Sintrenzas".
But how did this love for the Spanish language actually come about?
It's hard to say exactly. Whether it happened during a vacation in Spain, while watching Spanish films in their original language, or listening to Spanish music... no idea. What was clear, however, was that Spanish triggered a mix of fascination and attraction in him. So much so that he began to learn it. And the better he understood the language, the more he felt the need to sing in it.
So he started writing Spanish lyrics with the help of a Colombian friend. At the same time, he secured the services of Niklas Kleber, a young music producer from Wiesbaden, with whom he developed his first completely Spanish-language album titled "Babucha De Seda Granate" ("Chestnut Brown Silk Slippers"), a contemporary produced album with 12 songs, whose musical origins lie more in rock or more in pop, without neglecting a certain Spanish flair. And whose lyrics convey a similar feeling to reading a varied collection of essays or short stories! Sometimes cheerful, sometimes thoughtful.
Whether in the form of a musical couple's dialogue, where she makes it clear to him that she wants neither an expensive ring nor a luxury car, but merely these chestnut brown slippers (which is also the title song!), or in the form of a helpless yet romantic love declaration to the beautiful unknown woman encountered on the street every day. But also the cheerful encouragement for neighbor denunciation, (Viva la Denunciación!) or the realization that attending Metallica concerts and taking out the trash simply do not go together, are given their stage here.
And now the next chapter begins together with Carmen Sintrenza, the songs are performed live. Now and then, musicians from the large Sintrenza family will also be there – Gerdo and Carmen will, of course, try to include their relatives wherever possible, as they are all nice, warm-hearted people who will certainly add a bit more color to the "Las Sintrenzas".

Die KÄS, "Kabarett Änderungsschneiderei", in Frankfurt was the first German-Turkish cabaret stage and offers a diverse and entertaining program.
The unusual name not only refers to a Turkish cliché but also to the successful combination of self-irony and playing with prejudices, which give the house its unique charm and is accordingly reflected in the event offerings. Die KÄS was founded and shaped in 1997 by Sinasi Dikmen, a writer and cabaret artist of Turkish descent, along with his wife Aktay Dikmen. In addition to their own productions, established figures from the cabaret scene such as Django Asül, Dieter Hildebrandt, or Josef Hader continually find their way to the stage, delighting audiences with sharp, political, humorous, and intelligent performances. Emerging artists are also given the chance to showcase their potential in front of up to 200 spectators.
That laughter knows no cultural boundaries has been proven by Die KÄS for many years. Come by and enjoy an evening full of fun.
