Ralf Senkel - Der hat gesessen!
A guy, observing, sitting, and telling stories. Sometimes hilariously funny, sometimes with such precise observations that you feel like you're in a cabaret.
Ralf Senkel wanders between the boundaries of comedy and cabaret, always sitting on stage, yet not permanently fitting into one genre. It's up to the audience to recognize this balancing act. Linguistically and deep down with a large portion of Rhineland charm, he takes you on a journey into his small world.
In his village, he's known like a colorful character, not just because of his uniquely fashionable jacket, which he always wears. Nonetheless, according to him, he doesn't have any "metabolic issues," even if that's exactly what people say about him.
Ralf's so-called "professional inactivity" gives him time to observe. Hence, his stories are straight from everyday life, sometimes quirky, sometimes serious, always keenly observed, and most importantly: incredibly comical. Unintentionally comical? "No, I do this voluntarily!"
Ralf Senkel is a recipient of the Datteln and Kremenholl Kleinkunst Prize, nominated for Tegtmeiers Heirs 2023, and a regular guest on the Quatsch Comedy Club shows.
Experience the not-so-secret insider tip of the comedy and cabaret scene in his first solo program - "He hit the nail on the head!" Ralf Senkel comes, sits, and tells stories... and afterwards, you'll say, "He hit the nail on the head!" - promised.
...With critical views on common quirks of today, whether excessive online shopping or selfie obsession, Ralf Senkel hit the mark. In his role as a "professionally inactive" contemporary, who hasn't been at the workplace for years due to back problems, he didn't come across as a mood lifter, but he combined sharp observation with brilliant jokes. For instance, he mocked in his Cologne dialect that a selfie addict even took a picture at his mother's coffin and posted it on social media. "Nowadays, everything is being photographed, but nobody is creating an image," he pointed out... (Kölnische Rundschau)
