Cara Rose
Cara Rose is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. Cara explores what it means to be a young woman navigating life in such uncertain times. With her heartfelt thoughts, she has won fans of all ages while honing her craft on the many stages of Glasgow. Her direct, passionate, and empathetic lyrics are unmistakably Glaswegian, addressing themes such as love, life, and her place in the world.
The debut single Learn to Speak, a story of upheaval and determination, cemented the growing enthusiasm for one of the brightest young talents in the country. It received editorial support from Spotify and reached over 3.5 million streams, gaining her fans in her native Scotland, Europe, and North America. In early 2020, Cara went into the studio with renowned producer Matt Ingram (Lianne La Havas, Laura Marling) and began completing her debut EP Urges, which was highly anticipated and released in October 2020.
After spending the lockdown with her family in a small coastal town in the west of Scotland, Cara began writing her most expressive and introspective work to date, culminating in a new EP featuring tender piano ballads that radiate a talent far beyond her years. How It Feels (released in November 2021) showcases the young songwriter at her most vulnerable in terms of lyrics, willingly leaning into the jazz influence that shaped much of her childhood.
In the following years, she released heartfelt yet brilliant singles and played her biggest concert to date for 600 people in her hometown of Glasgow.
After Cara completed her first headline show outside of Scotland in November 2023, she set off on a sold-out debut European tour in 2024, with concerts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Musically gifted from a young age, Cara has nurtured her love for music from the soul. Her sound is reminiscent of artists like Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Joan Armatrading, and John Martyn.
Cara Rose is definitely an artist you should not miss. See for yourself when she takes the stage at the beautiful Nochtspeicher on February 5, 2025.
