The ENSEMBLE CLASSIQUE – "THE SHINING STAR IN THE BRASS HEAVEN"
as the Brass Sextet is repeatedly referred to by the specialized press, has been one of the most popular and internationally renowned brass ensembles of our time for years. This "Grand with Seven" (six brass players and one percussionist) offers brass artistry at the highest level. Initially supported by Leonard Bernstein, the ENSEMBLE CLASSIQUE made its debut at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and has been captivating audiences in all concert metropolises worldwide ever since.

The repertoire of the ENSEMBLE CLASSIQUE is nearly inexhaustible, encompassing all styles from the Renaissance to modernity, from Albinoni to Mozart to Duke Ellington and Tommy Dorsey. Brassband Hohenlohe

Symphonic brass music and live illustration? What sounds like a crazy idea after a too long music rehearsal turns out to be a real "emotional amplifier" when the Brassband Hohenlohe meets Rupert Hörbst. The powerful arrangements of the Hohenlohe selection band are complemented by colorful, distinctive, and sometimes crazy drawings by the Austrian illustrator, filling them with life. Trumpet mountains grow, (sound) cathedrals emerge, all created spontaneously! A brass music festival for the whole family, as always humorously moderated and with a large, well-rehearsed ensemble. We are pleased to have the Brassband Hohenlohe as guests at the TauberPhilharmonie once again. Every year, the musicians come together to play together - and their passion and commitment are an integral part of their celebrated live performances.

With their tour program Brassissimo in honor of the 35th anniversary of their patron's passing, the artists present a wide-ranging repertoire that encompasses nearly all styles from the Renaissance to modern times, from Albinoni to Duke Ellington and, of course, Leonard Bernstein.

German Brass - Around the World

German Brass owes its success to its sound. As a pioneer among brass ensembles, German Brass has not only made music history since its founding in 1974 but continues to pursue its success story. The ten solo brass players and university professors are distinguished by their uncompromising dedication to creating the genuine sound of their ensemble, finding and reinventing it anew in every concert and every recording. Sound is celebrated at German Brass – and for the audience, it becomes an experience.

The ensemble was founded in 1974 and originally consisted of only 5 brass players. However, in order to have more room for arrangements, the number was doubled 10 years after its establishment. In 2016, the ensemble received an ECHO Klassik award for the CD "Bach on Brass" in the Ensemble/Orchestra category.

Switching between different musical styles, their extensive repertoire ranges from Bach to Wagner and beyond to the captivating sounds of music greats like Frank Sinatra, Ennio Morricone, and Ray Charles. The brilliant musicians take you on a fascinating journey through the world of music.

The AllgäuKonzerte, with their artistic director Christian Segmehl, are starting their sixth season with German Brass. At this concert on March 8, 2025, in the fest hall of the Waldorfschule Wangen, Christian Segmehl will also be on stage with German Brass.

Their arrangements are incredible, making the brass ensemble sound like a full orchestra, and their ability to move effortlessly between many different musical genres, switching from classical music to jazzy big band sound or dance music, enhanced by drums. Not to mention the virtuosity and skill of each individual musician. In 2024, German Brass celebrates its 50th anniversary. The Choriner Musiksommer congratulates on this anniversary and looks forward to the return of this unique formation with its audience.
