The Swedish rockers Eclipse are excited to announce the release of their highly anticipated new studio album "Megalomanium II" on September 20, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl. The new single and accompanying video, "The Spark," are also released today.
The band shared their enthusiasm for the new single with lead singer Erik Mårtensson: "Our new single The Spark kicks off with a riff that sticks more than a Hubba Bubba bubble placed over a 90s beard. Don’t be deceived by the chewing gum reference, the song features one of our hardest verses yet, but it ends in an Eclipse-style chorus that will serve us well at the festivals we are playing this summer."
“We've been playing around with this idea for three albums now, and I’m really glad we gave it the time to develop,” adds guitarist Magnus Henriksson. “Musically, it’s a strange mix of Heavy Eclipse and almost EDM-like melodies. I have no idea how we ended up here, I just know it’s going to be great to bring this piece to the stage!”
Eclipse, the heavy rock powerhouse from Stockholm, is known for their unmistakable sound featuring massive hooks and outstanding musical talent, and has quickly become one of the largest Swedish heavy rock bands with well over 100 million streams on streaming services.
Following the release of "Megalomanium" last September and the exclusive 7'' vinyl "Apocalypse Blues" as well as the single "Falling To My Knees," the band’s journey to create memorable anthems continues intact.
Erik comments on the upcoming release: "If you thought the title of our last album was proof that we suffer from megalomania, then you are absolutely right. The only way we could top that was to make another album. Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you 'Megalomanium II.'
"This band is on a constant journey and trying to find new paths. Megalomanium II is probably closer to what most people associate with Eclipse. It’s packed to the brim with big choruses, beautiful melodies, and amazing guitar work. By the way, I’m totally unbiased,” Magnus continues.
Eclipse has been making bigger waves in the European and American rock scene in recent years. With tours from South America to Australia and Japan, the guys are a force to be reckoned with and are already well-known to festival attendees at Wacken, Alcatraz, Summer Breeze, just to name a few.
At its core, Eclipse is a heavy rock band with an appeal that transcends genres. In addition to their numerous headline tours, Eclipse has also opened for a variety of bands over the years, including Aerosmith, My Chemical Romance, and Def Leppard, to name a few. With their unique sound, Eclipse is one of Sweden's most influential heavy rock bands.
After a sold-out headline tour of Europe at the end of 2023, the band continues with their full live schedule in 2024. Following a successful tour in Japan and South America, Eclipse is currently touring Europe and will travel to Central Europe and the USA after the summer, with more dates being added throughout the year.
