At the 41st German Rock & Pop Prize 2023, TA2 won awards in the categories Best Fusion-Jazz-Rock Band and Best Fusion-Jazz-Rock Album. They were also honored in the special categories Best Fusion-Jazz-Rock Song, Best Drummer (Jan Melnik), and Best Guitarist (Peter Autschbach).

Ein rätselhafter Schimmer - Amüsier-Schau über die Wilden Zwanziger

A tempting voice, a lively bass, a swinging piano. This is music that makes the feet want to dance - and so do the brushes! And they actually do: Live before the astonished eyes of the audience, they conjure up a likewise exuberantly dancing couple onto the white canvas in rhythm. The brushes are expertly guided by Robert Nippoldt and are not the only drawing tools to make their appearance in this special interplay of music and art. With chalk, pencil, and ink, the stars of the Weimar Republic experience a resurrection in just a few moments. The "Comedian Harmonists" disassemble a concert grand piano in a visible and audible ecstasy, and a slapstick number pays tribute to the beginnings of sound films. One strolls with keen eyes through the capital and witnesses how the Memorial Church regains its roof. It's also astonishing how one can get to know all the chancellors of the Weimar Republic in just three minutes.

Thanks to camera and large projection, the audience is very close - to every stroke that the artist's hand elegantly brings to paper. All of this is enlivened, commented on, and inspired by the three fabulous musicians of the "Trio Größenwahn", who with verve and humor remind us of the classics of that time.

Haushaltsloch - Kabarettabend mit Bumillo

»The little bit of household ...«, yes, who does it then? Is this question a taboo or an opportunity? Is working the great happiness of our time? Or is staying at home the new success model? How can one damn well manage to keep all the to-dos in mind and get family and career under one roof?

Bumillo is a cabaret artist and househusband, but you can only book him for one of the two. The other he only practices very exclusively in front of a small or no audience. But whether it's a microphone or microfiber: he always goes full throttle forward and pulls heads out of the nooses of everyday life. Stand-up comedy and rap are what the 40-year-old family man carries along when he, as usual, smartly, penetratingly, and thrillingly roams the stage, delivering timeless cabaret in the here and now. We could witness this live at the Freiburg Culture Exchange.

Michael van Merwyk & Steve Baker - Blues, Folk und Rock´n´Roll

The style of singer and guitarist Michael van Merwyk is unmistakable: self-taught and emotional. His voice rumbles like a mix of Dr. John and Johnny Cash, his guitar playing is funky like Johnny Guitar Watson and rough like Albert King. Whether acoustic, electric, or on the lap steel: if it has strings, it will be played.

Born in London, Steve Baker looks back on a 40-year career as a professional harmonica player. Harp fans love his rhythmically shaped and instantly recognizable melodic playing style, which demonstrates a deep respect for the blues tradition, but seems to effortlessly incorporate elements from country, folk, funk, soul, and jazz. His expressive and lyrical sound conveys a remarkable emotional intensity.

Helen is almost Tom's dream woman: intelligent, quick-witted, and charming, but unfortunately, she does not conform to the conventional beauty ideal. Helen is overweight and she is at peace with herself. However, Tom cannot resist the expectations of those around him. He keeps their relationship a secret and does not introduce Helen to his friends. When they find out about the relationship, it puts her through a merciless test.

"Fettes Schwein" is a love story about questionable beauty ideals and societal pressure to conform, which has gained even more relevance in the age of Instagram and TikTok. A comedy that touches and encourages reflection.

30 Jahre Zenit - Musikkabarett mit Nessi Tausendschön und William Mackenzie

Nessi Tausendschön is a true alpha female of the German cabaret scene. She is known from radio and television: from the Satire Summit or as a guest on "Ladies Night" on WDR and the show "Die Anstalt" on ZDF. She represents 30 years of cosmopolitan cultivated absurdity, smooth large and small arts, astonishment dance, melancholic remorse poetry, and beautiful music. When Nessi celebrates the fractures of life, even the soul-blind in the audience awaken from their distanced paralysis, then the boundaries between inner, remembered spiritual reality and outer, embodied presence blur, between public and private, even intimate. And no eye remains dry. In short: Nessi has a tongue like a riding whip as a cabaret artist, but a voice like an angel as a singer. A wonderful combination.

In addition to many other awards, Nessi is the recipient of the German Small Arts Award and the Salzburg Bull. She last graced our stage with the cabaret natural phenomenon in 2015 with "The Wonderful World of Amnesia." We look forward to a new performance!

Das Neinhorn - Musical nach Marc-Uwe Kling und Astrid Henn mit Musik und Liedtexten von Marc Schubring

In the Heart Forest, a small, quirky unicorn is born. But even though everyone is very lilalove to it and constantly feeds it sweetened luck clover, the little creature doesn't behave like a unicorn at all. It simply keeps saying no, so its family soon starts to call it the NOunicorn. One day, the NOunicorn escapes from its cotton candy world. It meets the WASbear, a raccoon that doesn't want to listen, the NAhDOG, who truly doesn't care about anything, and then the King's DAUGHTER, a princess who always argues back. The four make quite a good team. Because even being stubborn is much more fun together!

The author, songwriter, cabaret artist, and performer Marc-Uwe Kling (*1982) is primarily known for his book series "The Kangaroo Chronicles." He has received several awards, including the German Audiobook Prize. Since 2015, he has also been writing children's books. "The NOunicorn" was published in 2019 and has already had a sequel since the end of 2021: "The NOunicorn and the BORINGNESS." In 2021, Kling won the Jonathan Swift Prize for Satire and Humor with "The NOunicorn."
