– Unlike any other, breathtaking, captivating –
NATURALLY 7 creates the multifaceted sound cosmos of an entire band, from the sound of drums, bass, guitar, harmonica, or even trombone – and all completely without instruments! The 7 men sing a capella, but they are incomparable to many other groups in this genre, as few achieve such a perfect sound. Sometimes it is R’n’B, soul or hip-hop, sometimes gospel, pop or rock. With playful perfection and absolutely impressive musical and interpersonal harmony, NATURALLY 7 consistently provides their audience with unforgettable experiences of an extraordinary kind. In addition to their musical talent, the seven vocal artists are also great entertainers, and their presence on stage reaches every seat in the house and has enchanted every visitor so far.
On the occasion of their 20th band anniversary, NATURALLY 7 presents their “20 Years Tour” in Germany. The program includes, among other things, their most popular songs, including various cover versions such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” (QUEEN), “Fix You” (COLDPLAY), “Bridge Over Troubled Water” (SIMON & GARFUNKEL) as well as “Englishman In New York” (STING).
NATURALLY 7 was founded in 1999 by ROGER THOMAS, who sought five other talented singers from the area with his brother WARREN. The decisive factor was that WARREN wanted a drum set as a child. However, their mother said it would make too much noise. Therefore, he began to mimic various drum sounds vocally and with his mouth, which has been referred to in hip-hop since the 1980s as “beatboxing.” This led to one thing after another, and the other band members also found joy in imitating instruments, which became the hallmark of NATURALLY 7. Additionally, it is also the distinguishing feature compared to many a capella groups that mainly perform through singing. What comes so playfully easy to the seven Americans, they themselves call “Vocal Play.”
In 2007, NATURALLY 7 achieved international breakthrough as “Special Guest” on MICHAEL BUBLÉ's world tour. From 2012, the group completed 467 guest performances in 25 countries, across Europe as well as Canada, Australia, and the USA within 2 years.
The foundation for their success in Germany was laid in 2013 with the number-one single “Music Is The Key” featuring SARAH CONNOR and performances at the “Night Of The Proms” (2012). The septet has released nine studio albums, two live CDs, and one live DVD since 2000. The last release was a “Special Edition” of the current CD “Both Sides Now” plus DVD (Live in Berlin) in 2018. The exceptional musicians, in addition to the two founding brothers ROGER (musical director, arranger, 1st baritone & rapper) and WARREN THOMAS (percussion, “guitar,” “clarinet” & 3rd tenor), also include ROD ELRIDGE (1st tenor, “scratching” & “trumpet”), SEAN SIMMONDS (2nd tenor & “harmonica”), RICKY CORT (4th tenor & “guitar”), DWIGHT STEWART (2nd baritone & “trumpet”) and “KELZ” MITCHELL (bass), are constantly on the move, as their home is the stage. There, the acoustic illusion of a small big band in various forms can be experienced up close.
Anyone who witnesses this can only agree that this is a “seven-voice wonder” (“Die Welt”) or, as MICHAEL JACKSON's producer QUINCY JONES put it: “NATURALLY 7 is the best a cappella band of all time!”
