Anyone wanting to experience “FFJ” live in New York in the 1940s had to act quickly when purchasing tickets or pay top prices on the black market. In her head, she may have enchanted the world with an angelic voice. In acoustic reality, however, the audience routinely left the hall or stuffed handkerchiefs in their mouths. Yet criticism and doubt could not shake Florence. What began with small soirées ended with a legendary concert at the sold-out and roaring Carnegie Hall.

Stephen Temperley portrays in his Broadway hit a woman inspired by art, whose rock-solid belief in her own musical talent is both comical and admirable. The focal point of the story is Cosme McMoon, the pianist who accompanied her for twelve years at her concerts. Initially driven by purely financial considerations, McMoon gradually comes to understand what makes the singer Foster Jenkins so uniquely captivating: her absolute and uncompromising dedication to music.

Die Geierwally

At the top of the Tyrolean mountains lives the Geierwally on the farm of her authoritarian father. Her only friend is a lammergeier, which she rescued as a chick from the nest. On her confirmation, she falls hopelessly in love with the handsome Joseph, who, however, wants nothing to do with her.

Because of her love for Joseph, she rejects the marriage proposed by her father with the neighbor Vinzenz and is banished to the mountains. In the hope that the stubborn child has become reasonable, Wally is finally allowed to return. But the tragedy has no end: an uproar arises when Wally protects her old servant from Vinzenz's blows, lifts the axe, and Vinzenz falls to the ground, bleeding. To save herself from the furious father and the mob, Wally throws burning logs into the barn. Declared an arsonist, she wanders from now on.

Her love for Joseph, her hope for salvation, keeps her alive. And then everything turns out quite differently than one thinks...

Who says you're old at sixty? Certainly not Anne, Eddi, and Johannes. They have all reached early retirement age and decide - also for financial reasons - to revive their old student flatshare. Who says you're old at sixty? Certainly not Anne, Eddi, and Johannes. They have all reached early retirement age and decide - also for financial reasons - to revive their old student flatshare. Everything should be like it used to be: Sitting around the kitchen table until late at night, drinking wine, philosophizing about the world, and playing old records.

But the new flatshare didn't count on the building community. Because above the three former students, there are three current students. And they are studying hard for their exams, and they can use everything - except funny and loud old hippies who don't adhere to the house rules. It doesn't take long for both generations to clash. But what exactly is going wrong here? Have the older ones not understood the signs of the times? Or do the younger ones simply look old-fashioned?
