TRUCK STOP
Christmas Tour 2024
"Beautiful Christmas"
Truck Stop celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2023. Few bands can look back on such a successful history. They have continuously set milestones on their path to success. "We are proud of what we have achieved on our journey, and we are pleased that the fans and the media have crowned us as the most successful German country band of all time," says Teddy Ibing, a founding member of the band, with pride. Reason enough to continue celebrating in 2024!
After five decades in the music business, the band can look back on a more than remarkable history. Truck Stop is a legend and an undisputed pioneer of German-language country music: The band has released more than 45 studio albums since 1973 and sold over 20 million records. They have performed at well over 6,000 concerts and festivals in Germany, Austria & Switzerland. Simply unmistakable and for three generations of country fans. 50 years of pure country!
Founded on March 10, 1973 in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Truck Stop, who initially presented their songs in English, were already playing not long after in the opening act for greats such as Johnny Cash, Fats Domino, and Chuck Berry. When they later decided on German lyrics at the end of the decade, they definitively became the greatest German country band of all time: Their first German country album "Zu Hause" had already brought them precious metals, and in the last 40 years, following chart-topping successes like "Der wilde, wilde Westen", they had countless more hits and unforgettable tours. After acclaimed shows in the US, massive success in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as three Golden Tuning Forks, Truck Stop were finally inducted into the Country Hall of Fame as the first German band.
A special gift to all TRUCK STOP fans for 50 years of loyalty! For the first time in years, TRUCK STOP is celebrating the Christmas season again with friends and fans. On the "50 Years - Beautiful Christmas" tour, the band takes fans into their Christmas country world - sometimes emotional, sometimes rocking - and always close to the audience.
"With this tour, we want to get our fans in the mood for the Christmas season. You won't hear the typical classic Christmas songs from us, but we've come up with a very special program – in our country style," says Teddy Ibing, the man on the drums and founding member of the band.
Of course, their unforgettable Christmas songs will be included, such as "Erwin the chubby snowman" or "Does Santa Claus come to Texas" - real country Christmas feeling is guaranteed. But also the hits from 50 years of Truck Stop will not be missing, like "Moin, Moin", "50 years", or the beloved classics "Wilder Westen", "Take it easy", and "I so would like to hear Dave Dudely" to really celebrate the Christmas season.
The "Beautiful Christmas Tour 2024" is a true Christmas highlight for all fans. Even though it hasn't always been easy for Truck Stop, unity, fairness, respect, and country music have always kept them together. Nobody is thinking of stopping any time soon. Handcrafted, honest music - that's the band's trademark for another 50 years! Alongside Truck Stop veterans Wolfgang "Teddy" Ibing (drums, entertainment) and Knut Bewersdorff (pedal steel, dobro, vocals, guitar), frontman singer and guitarist Andreas Cisek, David Rick (lead guitar), Tim Reese (fiddle, guitar, banjo, and mandolin), and Uwe Frenzel (bass, accordion, chorus) will also be on stage.
