An advent without choral music? Unimaginable. How about one of the oldest boy choirs in Europe, which has a distinctly youthful sound?
Currently, 132 children and young people between the ages of 9 and 19 sing in various formations in the Dresdner Kreuzchor. In addition to numerous performances in their home base, the Dresden Kreuzkirche, the world-famous Kruzianer also participate in many concerts in the nearby Kulturpalast or performances at the Semperoper and are regularly on tour.
Martin Lehmann has guest performed several times with the Windsbacher Knabenchor in the master concerts and has been serving as the Kreuzkantor on the Elbe since 2022.
At this Advent reunion, Bernhard Buttmann will be at the Steinmeyer organ. The longtime cantor of St. Sebald was for many years also responsible for the maintenance of the 6,646 pipes of the hall organ.
We can expect old and new sounds surrounding the most musically festive celebration of Christianity.
