„In der Nacht, als Ronja geboren wurde, rollte der Donner über die Berge.“ Ronja ist die Tochter des Räuberhauptmanns Mattis. Sie wächst umsorgt auf der Mattisburg im Mattiswald inmitten einer Räuberbande auf. Birk ist der Sohn von Mattis Erzfeind Borka, dem Anführer der gefährlichen Borkaräuber, die eines Tages beschließen, den unbewohnten Teil der Mattisburg zu belagern. „On the night Ronja was born, thunder rolled over the mountains.” Ronja is the daughter of the robber chief Mattis. She grows up in the Mattisburg in the Mattiswald, surrounded by a band of robbers. Birk is the son of Mattis’s arch-enemy Borka, the leader of the dangerous Borka robbers, who one day decide to besiege the uninhabited part of the Mattisburg. At first, Ronja is not at all in favor of her new neighbors, but gradually she becomes friends with Birk, much to the annoyance of their feuding parents. When they can no longer bear the conflict between their families, Ronja and Birk flee into the forest, where they experience exciting adventures.

A soup that nourishes like a good story. For example, the story of Lene. She was our chef's grandmother. She had a little piglet that she was allowed to raise, and it caused a lot of trouble. Once, the piglet ate potatoes – that was bad. Because the war came and food was scarce. We tell a story from a past time that unfortunately is real again. But what helps in tough times? A good soup!

Ronja Räubertochter - Familientheater ab 5 Jahren

"“This summer I will carry with me forever, that I know.”

On a stormy night, Lovis and the bandit chief Mattis have a child – a girl named Ronja. While the bandit gang marvels at the newborn child, a lightning bolt strikes Mattisburg and splits the castle in two. Between them lies a hellish chasm. And it is right in this hellish chasm that Ronja meets Birk one day, the son of Borka, Mattis's arch-enemy and leader of another band of robbers. At first, the children are just as hostile as their parents, but they end up saving each other's lives and eventually become friends.

Mattis and Borka do not like that at all – Ronja and Birk flee from the castle and live a summer in the forest.

Astrid Lindgren’s last great novel is the wonderful story of how the friendship between two children overcomes divides and enmities – even the hellish chasm. A story that could hardly be more valuable today.

Directed by the Capitol Children's Theater team, which also brought “The Mannheim Jungle Book” to the stage.
