Wally & Ami Warning - Groove and Soul
Two generations of Warning are standing together on stage. Wally Warning, originally from Aruba, has been a stable figure in the Munich music scene for many years. In the area between reggae and soul, he has created a number of hits (›No Monkey‹). Following in his footsteps is his daughter Ami, who has impressed critics and music fans with her albums. The Munich-born artist takes her own paths, occasionally moving over to the singer-songwriter genre. Father and daughter, with their blind trust in each other, will be on stage at Sapperlot, creating those magical moments that you shouldn't miss.
Wally Warning
Wally Warning was born in Aruba in the Antilles and dedicated his life to music at a young age. Over the years, a unique style has emerged: a multicultural crossover that defies categorization. Echoes of reggae and soul, as well as Latin and gospel – the multi-instrumentalist and singer effortlessly switches between different styles, languages, and musical bodies. Unmistakably "Wally," is the Caribbean lightness with which he speaks of the power of love. His charisma and presence on stage are further enhanced in collaboration with his daughter Ami. The reggae popstar, multi-instrumentalist, and singer Wally exudes lightness as he effortlessly jumps between different styles, languages, and musical bodies.
Ami Warning
Ami's voice is versatile. Raw and gentle, strong and fragile. Untrained – yet perfect. This makes her special. Ami harmonizes soul, reggae, and folk fabulously. Not only does her music follow this style, sometimes she even looks like a mix of Lauryn Hill and Tracy Chapman. Ami Warning has been achieving great success as a solo artist for some time, including with German-language songs. In March 2022, she won the German Music Authors' Award from GEMA as the best emerging musician. Her gentle, deep, very special singing is influenced by soul – while beats and flow are inspired by hip hop. Her authentic, honest lyrics reflect grounding and curiosity.
