Chris Beckers
Chris Beckers is a guitarist, music producer, and native Dutchman. He lived for many years in the Ruhr area where, as a teenager, he learned his first chords on the guitar and formed his first bands. In August 1975, Chris Beckers moved with his family to Nordhorn, where he became a member of the successful ‘Backwater Bluesband‘.
Early on, he was interested in the blues, but his playing increasingly became influenced by the jazz-rock of the 70s. In 1980, he produced his first LP with original compositions. A year later, the second album ‘Splash‘ followed, and in 1983, Chris produced another one titled ‘Night Moves‘.
This album was released in Japan on Polydor, achieving high sales figures with chart placements. This allowed Chris to build his own studio in Nordhorn and establish the ‘CrisCrazz‘ record label with its own publishing house. With his music produced in the home studio, the guitarist often traveled to Los Angeles to work further on his productions with local musicians. Internationally known musicians such as Billy Cobham, Peter Erskine, Ernie Watts, Simon Phillips, Jimmy Haslip, Abraham Laboriel, Paulinho Da Costa, Alex Acuña, Gerry Brown, and Dick Morrissey can be heard on Chris Beckers' productions. His solo albums were released across Europe on his own ‘CrisCrazz‘ label, and his records were also published in Japan, England, and America. Since 1996, Chris Beckers has been living and working in Amsterdam, where he has been involved in countless productions in jazz, soul, and world music as a producer and often also as a musician. It is a life as a music maker, covering all facets.
Chris Beckers is back on tour in Germany with his first-class band and will perform on February 6, 2025, at CAPITOL Nordhorn.
