Multiphonic Quartet

The Multiphonic Quartet is a young saxophone quartet from Düsseldorf. Its name derives from a special playing technique where multiple tones sound simultaneously on a wind instrument. For the four musicians of the Multiphonic Quartet, this technique represents the diverse creative and stylistically diverse possibilities that a formation with four different saxophones offers. Silas Kurth, Olivia Nosseck, Katrin Ticheloven, and Luca Winkmann came together a few years ago at the Krefeld Music School and have won numerous first prizes at competitions both nationally and internationally. They completed their artistic training at the Robert Schumann University of Düsseldorf with Andreas and Martin Hilner, and at the University of Music and Dance Cologne with Prof. Daniel Gauthier and Sebastian Pottmeier.
