They are the particularly vital and revitalizing elements of an opera, a symphony, a concert – and at the Heinerfestkonzert, a complete program is dedicated to them. We are talking about the dances with which composers of all eras and nations have always been able to ensure their impact on the audience. Whether as Habanera or Polonaise, as Waltz or Danse macabre, the dance movements set the striking exclamation marks. The Hungarian Gábor Hontvári is a conductor who knows the importance of dance in music. "Music and dance seem to be different branches of art," he says, "but they have always had a close and influential relationship. Movement, gesture, groove, tempo, rhythm, articulation are central elements of both art forms that have always been a part of our human existence."
