Pop and jazz choir music often provides room for solo spots and improvised parts. Sometimes choir singers find it hard to work up the courage and seize the opportunity to improvise. As a well experienced improvising artist Tanja loves to familiarise singers with her method of getting started with improvisation and taking your first steps in that direction. Learn more about how to begin improvising in a playful way while practicing music theory at
the same time. Explore and develop your improvisation skills starting with easy exercises. This workshop will help you to get in touch with your own creativity and bring your ideas to life.

Raised in Halle/Saale, Tanja Pannier studied jazz singing in Weimar with Prof. Jeff Cascaro and Michael Schiefel and continued her vocal and composition studies with Prof. David Friedman and Agnes Heginger at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2008 she released her first solo album “Invisible” and performed concerts in Sweden, Finland, Italy, Hungary, Canada, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and China.
The Berlin-based singer, composer, arranger and vocal coach is a founding member of the multiple international award-winning a cappella ensemble Klangbezirk and vocal lecturer for Jazz & Pop at the Berlin University of the Arts.
