Markus Barth - Pures Gold
The greatest advantage as a stand-up comedian? No matter what happens to you in life, whether shining success or spectacular failure - eventually, it all turns into a magnificent stage act. Pure gold, indeed! And so, in his new live show, Markus Barth rolls up his sleeves and digs for the nuggets.
The master of maximum-minimalist stand-up ("One stage, one mic - I leave everything else to Helene Fischer") digs wherever it sparkles - but also where it hurts. Because heaven knows: Even in Markus Barth's life, not everything was always pure gold! He plows through his own biography, muddles through current events, and even looks into the future for his audience ("At what age do I actually have to prance through German wine villages in cycling cleats?").
In the meantime, he casually chats with the audience, sparing no one (especially not himself), effortlessly navigating between pain and punchline. Because we know: Comedy is tragedy plus time. Well, and a few jokes don't hurt either. But believe us: Markus Barth has plenty of those in his luggage.
P.S.: The last show of this tour will take place on 27.2.27 at Cologne's Gloria. After that, Markus Barth will be gone for a while. On a treasure hunt, so to speak. Better check it out beforehand!
Markus Barth has been living and working in the comedy scene for many years. Initially as a writer and head writer for Germany's most successful comedy shows, then he discovered the stand-up stage for himself. Today, he hosts his own show on BR Fernsehen ("Kabarett aus Franken"), is a regular guest on all comedy and cabaret shows, and has a radio column on WDR5. In addition, he achieved one of the most successful show developments in recent years with "Queer up! Comedy", he is part of the "Delayed Night Show" at the Comedia in Cologne, and tours throughout Germany with comic artist Ralf König as "König mit Barth". On the side, he captivates his ever-growing followers on all social media channels, travels around Europe in a motorhome with his husband and dog, and gets a little closer to perfecting the art of making the perfect braised tomato sauce every year.
