Artists
Katrin Ambrosius studied at the Hochschule für Musik Leipzig with Prof. Hertel. After her state examination, she completed several years of postgraduate studies in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Prof. Kryssa and Prof. Besrodny, graduating with a soloist diploma with distinction. She then had a substitute contract at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, and was a member of the radio orchestra in Leipzig, the State Philharmonic Hamburg, and under a fixed-term contract with the Munich Philharmonic. Her training as a music therapist and as a NLP Practitioner (with Dr. Bandler, USA) round out her experience as a soloist, educator, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. She is particularly dedicated to the musical heritage of her grandfather, the composer Hermann Ambrosius. With numerous recordings in radio and television stations, she has been able to bring her grandfather's music closer to a wide audience. She is a multiple winner of the Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig. Her instrument is from Giovanni Battista Gabrielli, dated 1769.
Erwin Stein, born in Michelstadt-Steinbach, Hesse, is a renowned pianist. He received his musical education from Werner Hoppstock in Darmstadt and Ludwig Hoffmann in Munich, where he graduated with a master class diploma. His outstanding achievements include the 1st prize at the Federal Competition of Conservatories and Academies, as well as the 1st prize and the golden palm at the international piano competition "Palma d´oro" in Finale Ligure.
Since 1979, he has been working as a lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik München. His solo career has taken him to significant performance venues such as Schloss Bellevue in Berlin and the large concert hall in Vienna. In addition, he is intensively committed to chamber music and regularly performs with members of the Munich Philharmonic and Bavarian Radio.
A special focus of his artistic work is his role as a piano accompanist. In this capacity, he has been engaged as the official accompanist for the International Master Classes of Max Rostal and Dmitri Sitkovetsky. He also serves as an accompanist for the Munich Pfitzner Song Competition.
Martin Fogt has been a speaker and moderator at Bavarian Radio since 1985, particularly on BR-KLASSIK and Bayern 2. Since 2008, he has been responsible for the speaking hours at BR, a format that connects text and music. In addition, he was a lecturer at the Leopold Mozart College of Music at the University of Augsburg and a speaking coach. Born in Munich, he studied singing, music education, and directing at the Hochschule für Musik München, as well as musicology and art history at the universities of Munich and Augsburg. Besides his work as an author, singer, and speaker, he regularly participates in various festivals.
The program is presented in cooperation with the small theater in Haar and the dbpg, and is recorded for the platform Periakten.
