Fri., Oct. 10, 2025 – 7:00 PM
ST. PETER & PAUL CHURCH
WEIL DER STADT
New program: "Power of Faith"
Everyone has felt enchanted by the sounds of the pan flute at some point, heard in pedestrian zones, on the radio, in a television show, or on a vacation beach. Yet, little is known about this original shepherd's instrument. Rarely, however, does a musician not only play their instrument but truly merges with it. Therefore, experiencing a concert with Daniela de Santos is not just a delight for the ears and eyes, no … it is a touch to the heart. This unity of person and music, artist and instrument, perfection and emotion moves and reaches me … the listener.
Fitting the unique atmosphere of the St. Peter & Paul Church in Weil der Stadt, she calls her new concert program "Power of Faith." Daniela de Santos is named the "Queen of the Pan Flute" in the international press – certainly not an exaggeration as anyone who has listened to the award-winning Grand Prix of Folk Music winner knows. She pours her innermost self, her thoughts, her memories over her soul into the music. You can feel this perfection and heart's blood in every note, and that is what makes this concert visit an unforgettable experience.
Repertoire:
Experience and hear much "new" paired with a touch of "tried-and-true" and "well-loved." You will feel goosebumps with "The Lonely Shepherd," be captivated by its Spanish temperament in "La Paranda" and "Habanera," and be fascinated by the musicality of Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." When Chatschaturjan's "Sabre Dance" and the Greek Sirtaki by Theodorakis come, your mouth will drop open from such virtuosity. Her incomparable "Ave Maria" (over 30 million clicks on YouTube) will move you to tears, and with "Hallelujah," your heart will overflow. As a farewell, "Time to say goodbye" rings out… You can hardly believe it and would love to turn back time.
Instruments:
In addition to the more well-known wooden pan flutes, such as the rosewood soprano flute, the Caucasian walnut alto flute, and the reed bass pan flute, Ms. de Santos can claim to own the world's first crystal pan flute "Celestina." For the exceptional artist, the Austrian crystal giant Swarovski has created a globally unique instrument made from crystal glass fiber. After three years of intensive work, a perfected one-of-a-kind has emerged, which is unparalleled. It sounds crystal clear, remarkably different, and incomparably beautiful.
Team:
The artist is complemented by a well-coordinated team that casts her in the right light. The sound engineers guarantee perfect listening enjoyment from every seat in the large church space through professionalism in handling special sound columns. Subtle lighting effects artistically round off the concert.
Special Features:
Ms. de Santos lives as she interprets her music. Recently, she has become the lady of the castle at Harburg Castle, the best-preserved castle complex in southern Germany, where she lives with her partner in the venerable caretaker's house. When visiting the castle and strolling on the grounds, one immediately recognizes the artist's residence, which with so much attention to detail, the flowers in the garden, the exterior design, and her "Warm Welcome" shows: "There is someone who has their heart in the right place."
