You can expect a literary-musical evening with the finest chansons. Véronique Kinnen (vocals and acting) and Rudi Schubert (piano and vocals) present newly set poems and texts by Rudi, featuring works by Bertolt Brecht, Mascha Kaléko, Erich Kästner, and Kurt Tucholsky.
You will hear songs and texts about the intoxication of love and distressing emotional coldness, about defiant faith in a shared happiness and its disastrous disillusionment, about dance whispers and a market for bought love. The underlying tone remains: "Certainly, I am very happy. But I am not content."
Véronique Kinnen has been on stage since childhood. She learned the art of acting at the Ecole Florent and at Université Paris VIII in Paris. She is also a trained classical singer. Thus, she regularly participated in musical productions in Luxembourg, including Rinaldo, FrouFrou, Hommage à la Môme (a tribute to Edith Piaf), and Um Stamminee.
In the theater field, she has taken on roles in Faust 1, Biedermann und die Brandstifter, and Woyzeck. With the international theater production 37 Zündhölzer oder das Gestohlene Leben, she is traveling in 2023/2024 in Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, and Luxembourg. Literary cabaret is also part of her repertoire.
In recent years, Véronique has also appeared in films such as Io sto bene, Lost Transport, and Little Duke.
Rudi Schubert
Studied philosophy at the University of Strasbourg with a master's degree.
Classical piano training. Hosted a children's show on Radio100,7.
He creates self-written audio plays for kids. Also classical piano improvisations, such as Sculptures musicales, a tribute to Camille Claudel.
In 2017, he was responsible for arrangements and musical performance on stage in the production Gainsbourg, Gainsbarrre, faut voir at Théâtre des Capucins in Luxembourg, alongside saxophonist Nadine Kauffmann.
In the field of songwriting/creating songs, in addition to his own projects, he was the composer and pianist in the KMK programs "Adel braucht Tadel" [2012], "Päerd sinn och nëmme Mënschen" [2016], and "Wann e Salamander mat dem Feier spillt" [2019].
