STOPPOK is a singer, musician - German-speaking singer/songwriter, and a fantastic guitarist. His music is a unique mix of folk, rock, rhythm'n'blues, and country. He sings with subtle humor about the adversities of everyday life and constantly establishes himself as a critical observer of his surroundings. What started in the early 80s with street music has led him to release over 20 albums, two DVDs, film and theater music, making him well-known throughout the German-speaking area and being repeatedly honored (including multiple winner of the annual prize of the "Liederbestenliste", SWR song prize, prizes of the German record critics, "Ehrenantenne" of the Belgian radio, German music author prize of GEMA 2013, German cabaret award 2015, German world music award RUTH 2016, Tana-Schanzara prize 2020, and the Swiss song prize - La Grande Bellezza 2021). In his songs, STOPPOK skillfully addresses fundamental questions and problems of our time through often personally tinted stories, creating a natural connection between the private and the general. STOPPOK turns everyday language into poetry that creates images of touching directness. In his songs and concerts, the far from silent observer focuses on attitude and values. These are things that our synchronized, multimedia society has largely lost in its pursuit of quick success. As important as the lyrics is the perfect rhythmic connection between language and music, something that has always been crucial to him. Whether with his rock band, in a duo, solo, or with his fellow musicians, Stoppok always strikes the right tone and fascinates his audience as a brilliant entertainer.
