“Doors closed and 3 hours of pure fun and joy with family or friends,” welcomed Erwin Machulke, the caretaker of RUHRICAL, the audience. And he kept his word: The RUHRICAL combines pop, rock, musical, and schlager in a thrilling show and tells the stories of the Ruhr area in all its diversity – authentic, passionate, and full of humor. The audience immersed themselves for almost three hours in emotions, creativity, and the great warmth of the region – a direct access to the heart of the Ruhr area and its visitors.

From the modern arrangement of “Glück auf, der Steiger kommt” to the exhilarating “Helge Schneider Medley” – presented by the vocal wonder Marc Stahlberg – every moment is guaranteed to be a sing-along and cheer-along experience. Great dance choreography and the anthemic “Glück auf, der Steiger kommt” in a production that combines the tradition and modern dynamics of the region: Thanks to realistic animations, the audience dives 1000 meters below the earth and experiences the magic of the Ruhr area up close. Whether it’s Cranger Kirmes, a stadium visit, or time spent with friends in the allotment garden – the Ruhr area comes alive in the Mondpalast.

JOINT CHOIR SINGING & FOLLOWED BY THE RUHRICAL
Experience a RUHRICAL in November and December 2024 that brings special emotions and the great feeling of community and togetherness to the stage! This unique theater experience will hopefully provide us with unforgettable moments during the festive season. As a special highlight, this year features a joint choir singing with the audience, creating a very special pre-Christmas atmosphere. Led by a choir director, you will immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere and celebrate the pre-Christmas season with us!
WHAT TO EXPECT
For events on Friday and Saturday: The evening begins in the theater hall at 19:00 with a joint choir singing. We invite you to join us for a musical retrospective of the Ruhr area. Together, we will sing our songs, then transition into traditional Christmas carols and emotionally prepare for the upcoming RUHRICAL. After a short break, the RUHRICAL begins around 20:00, which will take you into the fascinating world of the Ruhr area. We look forward to a wonderful evening with our guests.
For events on Sunday: Joint choir singing begins in the theater hall at 15:00. After a short break, the RUHRICAL will start around 16:00. The end of the event is approximately at 18:45.
