Depeche Reload wurde im Herbst 2007 gegründet, aus großer Leidenschaft,
zu einer der kultigsten und richtungsweisenden Bands, der 80´er und 90´er.

Das Ziel war eine Mischung aus „Platte“ und Depeche Mode live.
…und weil das noch nicht schwer genug war, haben sie es sich zum Vorsatz gemacht,
immer OHNE programmierten Hintergrund zu spielen!

We are resurrecting Club 74 for you and writing a new success story with the Reloaded edition. All club fans and lovers of good rock music can dance to the original club sound, many classics, long-lost treasures, harder tracks, and of course, current smash hits of alternative music - those songs that unfortunately came to an end with the closure of the legendary nightclub. You can groove, reminisce, and reunite with many acquaintances from "the club".

Your hosts are always on board: The club DJ of the 90s, namely DJ Bjoern, who shaped the club sound from '91 to '99, later successful at Busters Workshop for years, and of course our DJ Bjørn, known from Neon Club and The Green Empire (club DJ from '02 to '04).

In summary, it's a great opportunity to bring the discotheque, which has accompanied many of you through different life phases and emotions, back into the center of your world! Framed by a decoration that awakens memories of the "old club", the team at Scheuer welcomes you starting from 8 pm.

Short story about the legendary discotheque Club 74

The small town of Waldems-Esch is also known as the Gateway to the Golden Grund. For many, it was mainly the gateway to unconventional music away from the mainstream for a long time.

When "Club 74" opened its doors on March 8, 1974 as one of many discos of that time, no one would have thought that this would be the beginning of an almost 33-year-long story. Initially housed in the old hall of the "Zur Krone" guest house, Club 74 quickly attracted a diverse audience. Everyone partied together here: 16 to 60-year-olds, hippies, metalheads, punks, dark wavers, and many others along with students and members of the nearby US Army bases.

"The club," as it was commonly called, evolved from a regional to a national institution. Its founder Hans (†2017), the staff, and especially the numerous DJs, the special audience, and the expressive dance style of many "club-goers" made Club 74 a legendary, almost magical place for many. There was no dress code or fear of embarrassment on the dance floor - whether barefoot or in high heels, everyone celebrated together, danced, and turned night into day in the club.

Even the FAZ recognized in May 1990: "The secret center of the world is, anyway, Club 74 in Waldems-Esch."

The move from the Western-style dance hall to the comparatively somewhat sterile premises in the industrial area on Christmas Day 1994 marked a first turning point for some traditionalists. Nevertheless, another 12 years of club history were written after that, and feet danced sore on the wrought-iron enclosed dance floor.

When Club 74 closed its doors forever on December 26, 2006, it was the end of an era for many.

We are bringing Club 74 back to life for you and are writing a new success story with Reloaded. All club fans and lovers of good rock music can dance here to the original club sound, many classics, long-missed treasures, harder stuff, and of course also to current smash hits of alternative music - those tracks that were sadly cut short by the end of the cult discotheque - reliving memories and meeting many acquaintances from "the club" again.

Your hosts will always be present: The club DJ of the 90s, namely Dj Bjoern, who shaped the club sound from '91 to '99, then had years of success at Busters Workshop, and of course our well-known DJ Bjørn from Neon Club and The Green Empire (club DJ from '02 to '04).

It is Hanover, it is 1996. Helmut Kohl is Chancellor, telephones are generally connected to the device with a cable, and Wisecräcker play their first show! There are five of them, it's more punk than ska, after all, the saxophone is already there. But somehow, it’s not quite right yet. Trombone and trumpet join in. Now it fits! One thinks a record can be made this way and self-releases the “..de puta madre” EP at the beginning of 1999. And it’s moving forward! With the six tracks in tow, they play a multitude of headliner shows, a full tour with Bad Manners, and a California tour. California in general: The Spanish lyrics are well received. A German ska punk band that sings in English and Spanish?! “You absolutely have to come to Mexico!” But first, they need to make a new record. “I’d rather be down with the...” is also recorded and marketed in 2001 independently. Then, in September, they head for California. Specifically on September 11, 2001......and the tour takes place! For the first time, they play with Los Kung-Fu Monkeys from Tijuana. That fits! They could also travel through Mexico with them! Back home, everything becomes more professional, suddenly there’s a label, a booking agency, and more tours. And a new record. “Para mi gente” is released in 2003. With it, Wisecräcker tours for two years through all corners of the European continent. A move to Stockholm is set for 2005. Even 1000 km in direct line between band and singer cannot prevent “El Presidente” from being recorded and released on the band's own label Übersee-records. Alongside tours in European regions, the American continent is finally being traveled more frequently. Thanks to Los Kung-Fu Monkeys, nearly three weeks of concerts in Mexico are lined up for 2007, and California is added in 2008. And again a new record: “The Pact” is released after many weeks of studio work in 2010 on Übersee-Records. A release tour is supposed to take them for several weeks through the USA and Mexico. Homeland Security has something against it. The band is denied entry, the passports are gone, and there’s a lot of trouble. Instead, they head to Russia and Spain. The US wound only heals when they can return in 2012 with a lot of bureaucratic effort. Since then, the tours start right in Mexico. Sorry, USA. The band’s sound develops steadily over the years, whether live or on records. From crossover punk with saxophone, it increasingly becomes a standalone ska punk, characterized by four horns, three languages, a lot of steam, and the goal of getting people’s legs dancing in front of the stages of this world. Kohl and telephone cables have been gone for a long time, Wisecräcker, however, are more present than ever. After nearly 800 shows in 14 countries, 7 records, and countless tour kilometers, the seven gentlemen have used the pandemic years to record 11 new songs. At the beginning of 2023, these will be released as “Vida en color.” In Wisecräcker, Alex plays saxophone and sings, Bela plays trumpet, Andi and Gerrit play trombone, Hannes drums, Frank plays six thin strings, and Henrik four thick strings. Wisecräcker does not like Nazis and is generally in favor of looking after each other and caring for one another.
