Nachdem Tabaluga die Vernunft im ersten Teil gefunden hat, begibt er sich nun auf eine weitere phantastische Reise.

Vor langer, langer Zeit lebten einst die Drachen und schützten mit der Wärme ihres Feuers die Welt vor der Kälte des Eises.
Doch mit der Zeit begann das Eis alles Lebendige zu vernichten. Arktos, ein schrecklicher Schneemann, hat das Bestreben die Welt mit Eis zu überziehen.
Der alte Drache Tyrion möchte seinen kleinen Sohn Tabaluga auf seine ihm vorherbestimmte Aufgabe die Welt zu schützen vorzubereiten. Doch dafür muss Tabaluga das Wahre Feuer finden, denn nur so kann der den Machenschaften von Arktos ein Ende setzen.
Tabaluga hat die Unterstützung eines Magiers und der Drache zieht nun los um das Feuer zu finden.
Tabaluga stellt sich vielen Gefahren, wie in Gestalt der Spinnenfrau Tarantula, und lernt auch schöne Dinge kennen.
So lernt Tabaluga, dass die Welt mit all dem Guten und dem Bösen wunderbar und wert ist gerettet zu werden.
Arktos will verhindern, dass Tabaluga seiner Bestimmung gerecht wird und erschafft aus purem Eis ein wunderschönes Wesen, das Mädchen Lilli.
Lillis einzige Aufgabe soll es sein Tabaluga von seiner Suche nach dem Wahren Feuer abzulenken.
Tabaluga verliebt sich wie von Arktos geplant in Lilli, doch dadurch lernt Tabaluga eine große und schöne Macht kennen: Die Liebe.

The old dragon Tyrion wants to prepare his young son Tabaluga for his predestined task of protecting the world. But for that, Tabaluga must find the True Fire, because only then he can put an end to Arktos's schemes.
Tabaluga has the support of a magician and now sets out to find the fire.
Tabaluga faces many dangers, such as the spider woman Tarantula, and also encounters beautiful things.
