Rocco and his wife Eva have invited their long-known and familiar friends for dinner, and with what Rocco is conjuring up in the kitchen, everything suggests that it could be a pleasant and harmonious evening. But just as the pots are sizzling in the kitchen, Eva gets into an argument with her teenage daughter Sofia.

The doorbell initially saves them from the confrontation, and the guests start to arrive: Carlotta and her husband Lele, who have been together for 10 years and have two children, Bianca and Cosimo, freshly married and love-struck, and finally Pepe, who unexpectedly shows up without his new girlfriend. The first course is served and instead of merriment, there is initial tension among the friends. To lighten the mood, the hostess eventually suggests a game that turns into a challenge: all mobile phones are placed on the table for this evening, incoming calls are put on loudspeaker, and incoming messages are read out loud for everyone.

Reluctantly, everyone eventually agrees to the attempt. As the next courses make their way to the table and the wine glasses are continuously filled, every ring of the phone visibly causes beads of sweat to rise on their faces, and long-hidden secrets come to light. It becomes clear that the truth is not always what it seems – no one leaves this dinner unscathed.

The play based on the film of the same name was awarded in the star-studded German adaptation at the German Film Awards 2020 in the category "Most Successful Film by Attendance."

With experimental arrangements and surprising dynamics, TWORNA creates a promising arc from traditional songs of the 13th to 19th centuries to contemporary pop and world music. At times, one might think that Paul Gerhardt and Pj Harvey had met for an improvisation session under a village linden tree. The trio uses a truly versatile array of instruments: Swedish nyckelharpa, forest zither, guitar, and fretless bass. Another trademark of the band is Jessica Jäckel's expressive vocals, complemented by frame drum, cajon, forest devil and other percussion instruments.

For their debut album TWORNA, the trio was awarded the "Prize of the German Record Critics" in March 2021. TWORNA is the Slavic name of the village of Quohren where Caterina Other and Frieder Zimmermann live and founded the trio. The name TWORNA refers to Dvorane, the goddess of creators.

Silvio Schneider - a guitarist, composer, and globetrotter living near Meißen - continues his musical journey of the past years with the solo program PASSIONS: mixing smooth Bossa with groovy-funky rhythms, Jazz with Pop, adding influences from Flamenco, Classical music, electronic sounds, and loops to develop his very own sound: GROOVY WORLD GUITAR.

Since studying guitar and composition in Dresden, he has been intensively engaged with Latin American music and has been traveling the world with his projects for over 20 years. Solo, with KaraSol, HOELDER, or previously Nassler & Schneider, they have taken him to Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Russia, Macedonia, Turkey, the USA, Mexico, Canada, along the West African coast, Lebanon, and all the way to Japan with around 1,500 concerts.

In 2018, he won the "German Rock and Pop Award" in the category "Best Guitarist."

Der Liebestrank - L´Elisir d´Amore

With L'ELISIR D'AMORE, the LOVE POTION, Gaetano Donizetti, who had already composed over 30 operas by the time the work premiered in Milan in 1832, was able to celebrate one of his greatest successes. Donizetti entrusted the young peasant Nemorino, who has fallen hopelessly in love with his landowner Adina, with the melancholic romance UNA FURTIVA LAGRIMA - soon to become the most famous aria of the opera.

Even before the shy Nemorino can confess his love to the cultured and proud Adina, he finds himself confronted by the sergeant Belcore as a rival and therefore relies on the effect of a love potion, which he buys from the traveling miracle doctor Dulcamara. The simple wine that the business-savvy Dulcamara sells to him boosts Nemorino's self-confidence in a way that increasingly irritates Adina. When Nemorino spontaneously enlists with the soldiers instead of taking care of his inheritance to buy a second love potion, this impresses Adina after all: For the first time in her life, she truly feels loved.

Passing through Austria, where he stays for one night at the famous "Weißes Rössl am Wörthersee," he pays a visit to the famous painting "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Upon arriving in Verona, he gets lost, only to suddenly experience a grand opera in the Arena. An evening of concerts full of great emotions, death and deception, heroes, and coughing.

Swingin´ Meißen - Tom Gaebel

Tom Gaebel has always been regarded as a man for the big stage, alongside Sinatra he has also dedicated himself to many other classics, sung James Bond themes, recorded two Christmas albums – and last but not least, he has written his very own songs. Songs that reflect his musical passion for the past, for a time when music was as elegant as the musicians who played it: the era of the "Great American Songbook"!

This was the heyday of American entertainment music from the 1930s to the 1950s when famous songwriters like George Gershwin, Cole Porter, or Johnny Mercer created all the famous classics that made Frank Sinatra and his predecessors like Bing Crosby stars. Songs that were adapted by jazz greats like Miles Davis and Charlie Parker, which have been reinterpreted time and again by the greatest singers from Ella Fitzgerald to Nat King Cole to Tony Bennett.

End of the 1920s: While the Comedian Harmonists are rehearsing their first own songs in the heated music salon of Asta Nielsen, Joachim Ringelnatz accompanies the silent film diva to her holiday home on Hiddensee. While the singers record their first records, the poet can be heard live on the radio with his own verses. While the comedians fill the big concert halls, Ringelnatz, as a solo entertainer, sets the cabaret stages from Munich to Berlin on fire.

Did they ever meet, the first "boy group" and the first "comedian" of Germany? In our program, at least their works meet, supplemented by some other highly amusing hits of the time – we wish you much pleasure!

In the great word factory, words are produced day and night. Nonetheless, very little is said in this land, as people must buy words individually to speak them. Only wealthy people can afford many words and use them lavishly.

The poor need luck when they find a useful word in the trash between "rabbit pee" and "dog poop" or catch a "pancake" blown by the wind. So do Paul and Marie. They are friends and understand each other even without words. Oskar, however, is Paul’s worst enemy. He has rich parents and never smiles; instead, he talks to Marie.

One day, Paul catches three words with his butterfly net that are flying through the air. These three words are like a treasure for him because he wants to say something very important to Marie for her birthday.

Throughout his life, Dr. Heinrich Faust has dedicated himself to knowledge and science. The insights of the world pile up in his study as clearly as in his mind. Unhappy about his own determinism and driven by an insatiable desire for all-encompassing knowledge, Faust makes a pact with the devil himself. "If to the moment I should say: Stay a while! you are so beautiful! Then you may chain me in my place, Then I shall gladly perish!", he declares, sealing the wager for his soul.

Mephistopheles now takes on the intellectual old man and leads him, rejuvenated by 30 years, on a journey into the sensual world. Away from the study and books, towards revelry, excess, and romantic entanglements. When Faust finally encounters the young, innocent Gretchen and seduces her with Mephisto's help, catastrophe ensues.

Whether in the countless roles she has portrayed as an actress (GOOD BYE, LENIN, WEISSENSEE, DER USEDOM-KRIMI, among others) or in her second profession: as a singer. Ten years after her musical debut KÖNIGS-KINDER, Katrin Sass presents her new, moving program AM WASSER with brand new material: a mixture of her own autobiographical songs reflecting her soul and passages read from her biography DAS GLÜCK WIRD NIEMALS ALT. The lyrics were written by Antek Krönung (known for Christian Brückner, Jürgen Tarrach, among others) and the legendary musician, composer, arranger, and producer Rainer Oleak (known for Die Puhdys, Manfred Krug, Armin Müller-Stahl, among others), who will accompany her on stage at the piano. This collaboration resulted in eleven songs that illuminate various aspects of her life experiences in 30 years of East and 30 years of West.
