VELVET TWO STRIPES - No Spell For Moving Water Tour 2025
Maybe we should thank Jack White for bringing the spirit of blues rock into the present age over the last 15 years and thus conveying the importance of one of the oldest rock music genres. White has paved the way for bands like The Kills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Deap Vally. All of them have charismatic women at the forefront, celebrating the mix of garage, blues, fuzz rock, and riot grrrl punk. Recently, an exciting new band has parked their rusty van in this area: Velvet Two Stripes.
Finally, a European band ready to compete with the big names in the scene, challenging the guys in their garage, while proving that young women indeed have a knack for real blues. Their current album "No Spell For Moving Water" is set to be released on October 6, 2023, and was recorded in Vancouver, WA. For the perfect sound, two luminaries of the rock scene are responsible: Vance Powell (Mixing, among others The White Stripes, Buddy Guy) and Pete Lyman (Mastering, among others Tom Waits, Weezer).
What’s next? Always moving forward, always in motion, united as three. Sophie, Sara, and Franca say: “Music remains the most important thing. We don’t have to fit any trends, we don’t have to please anyone, just ourselves.”
