Hamburg Süd Gedenkfahrt CUX - HH

The Grand Lady of Shipping - that was the Cap San Diego when it sailed under the flag of Hamburg Süd. A symbol of proud commercial shipping, exclusive designs, and modern technical equipment. The Cap San Diego and her sister ships were known as the 'White Swans of the South Atlantic,' and traveling on these ships was something special for both passengers and crew.
In 2020, the shipping company Hamburg Süd was liquidated and sold to the Maersk shipping company. Many Hamburg Süd fans and employees had broken hearts. We are bringing back the memories of the glorious past of Hamburg Süd on board and sailing in the style of old shipping traditions.

Throughout the entire trip, the Cap San Diego can be visited at all stations, and every maneuver can be experienced up close in the engine room as well as on the bridge. Our volunteer crew is available for any questions and is always ready for a seafaring chat. Our "guys" can tell stories because they have sailed across all the world’s oceans while the Cap San Diego was still an active cargo ship. Today, the Cap San Diego is unique worldwide. Nowhere else is there a larger, seafaring ship of this class from the era of breakbulk carriers.
