The Moth + Sissies + Steamgenerator - 3x Doom
The Moth:
Since their celebrated debut THEY FALL in 2013, the Hamburg heavy trio THE MOTH has consistently delivered tracks with a catchiness that is surprisingly fresh for the genre. Kim Wilde meets Bolt Thrower, so to speak. Or as a review of their last LP HYSTERIA (2017) hinted, "Pop music played with a bulldozer." THE MOTH is now taking this to the next level with their new album FROST – which is released on their new label EXILE ON MAINSTREAM. With catchy hook lines that dig into the hearts and minds of listeners like a thrown meat hook. The band has dubbed their style DOOM-SLUDGE-POP. Alongside the raw power of the songs, THE MOTH's lyrics reveal an openness and vulnerability like never before. The experience and processing of fateful blows is a recurring theme throughout the album. The sound? Remains rough and distinctive. Cécile (vocals/bass), Freden (guitar/vocals), and Curry (drums) come at you with brutality and raw power on FROST, yet still produce songs with high recognition value. Monotonous riff rumbling and mantra-like stoner music are not their thing. Anyone who experiences THE MOTH live will automatically find themselves in front of the stage with biting head-nods, a thirst for beer, and a fist raised at hip height.
Sissies:
Local heroes, boundary crossers, lovable style chaos creators, beer destroyers surrounded by coastal air. They are clearly members of the 'I was almost the shit in the 90s' family.... Shows with, among others, Yuppicide, The Hellacopters, Soulfly, Disturbed, Backyard Babies, Black Label Society, Dozer.... Tour dates among others with Smoke Blow and Gluecifer... countless legendary, sweaty, and booze-soaked shows at the old Molotow in St. Pauli, proud house band of the Marquee, St. Pauli and so on. Many good people have woken up with headaches and a devilish grin after Sissies nights. It should be that way again! 12 years after their disbandment, they met again in 2017 in the honorable "Goldene Salon" to loudly and sweaty celebrate the 20th anniversary of their beloved debut "fixed" and the 51st anniversary of their mentor, manager, and malad minister Mathias "Botsch" Böttcher with many old and new friends. In the process, they discovered their feelings for each other and their rejection of bullshit music again, and even though they now look like a horde of estranged monks tuning the triangle for the Helge Schneider band... they are still nasty, hungry, loud, crazy, almost uncomfortably lovable, and unique... They might yet save the underground, perhaps all of St. Pauli, with their bastardized mix of Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Kyuss, and Cro-Mags.
Steamgenerator:
STEAMGENERATOR:
Is a band from the middle of nowhere, more precisely from the cold steel forge Wolfsburg. Musically, STEAMGENERATOR feels at home in the vast universe known as Doom. Five men, worn down by work, have set out to generate energy.
