Selofan is a death-inspired love story, a connection between heaven and hell. Since their founding in 2012 in the cradle of Europe, the Athenian duo has charted its own unconventional path, reinventing the modern dark wave scene across Europe and worldwide with their immense creativity and tireless work ethic over the last decade.
As well-known representatives of allusive, synth-heavy cold wave music and driving force behind the Greek label Fabrika Records, Selofan has followed the siren call of gothic sounds and the minimalism of the 80s, securing a solid place at the top of the independent wave scene.
The seasoned musicians are always on the lookout for new dramas and passions that enrich their visual intention and musical charm. The band specializes in deep, cool, and captivating analog sounds, combined with howling vocals, pointed synthesizers, and heart-wrenching saxophone – occasionally leading to genre boundaries.

Together with Joanna Pavlidou’s haunting vocals, Dimitris Pavlidis' pulsating bass, and their modular synthesizer compositions, the duo creates entirely unique worlds and narratives in every album and music video.
They create an uninhabited, dramatic world where sad lovers transform into a destructive, obsessive, and ambitious persona with an insatiable desire.
In the last decade, Selofan has gifted us seven studio albums, each possessing its own identity. Selofan avoids the convenience of sticking to a single sound style, continuing to experiment by blending many different music genres and languages to express profound, emotional, and fatalistic music. Dreamy saxophone melodies weave through powerful drum machine beats, a new wave bass riff, and haunting female vocals that sing, tell stories, and present so theatrically that each live performance is emotionally overwhelming. The band’s love songs and their odes to the failure and hysteria of subculture brilliantly express the themes they have explored throughout their lives: that there is a dark humor in emotional vulnerability, that one can laugh and cry in the same breath – and thus become stronger. Their sound is intense, rebellious, and sometimes shocking – it explores the depths of madness: it channels the call of a lover to fight, the power of self-awareness, and the brutal rawness of despair, the conflict between love and hate, culminating in devastating effects.
The evening will be opened by Die Tödin, performing at Grend for the second time.
After a forced health break, the Tödin crawls out of her barren sickbed and devotes herself once again to misanthropic stage ritualism. As a lethargic high priestess, she has made it her mission to showcase her sadness and depress the minds present. Only death is beautified.
