The Boogielicious Trio with Herzel, Rapp, and Dr. Becher
Boogielicious is a German-Dutch boogie, blues, and jazz trio that was initially founded in 2007 as a duo by Eeco Rijken Rapp (piano, vocals) and David Herzel (drums), but was expanded to a trio a year later with the addition of Dr. Bertram Becher's blues harmonica.
Boogielicious is currently one of the most extraordinary boogie formations in the European scene, catapulting the very popular music of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s into the current century. Meanwhile, the three musicians have worked their way to the top ranks of their genre with their six albums.
While the media marveled at the debut album "Boogielicious" by Eeco Rijken Rapp and David Herzel for the continuous quality of the entire album (press comments: "Effortless, weightless, simply wonderful"), the distinctive typical sound of the trio is also shaped by the blues harmonica, which is rather rarely used in boogie, on the following albums.
The live performances repeatedly turn into celebrated highlights of the concert season, and the "Boogielicious" project is reaching a new dimension internationally. The enormous joy of playing by the band not only resonates with audiences at their numerous successful concerts in Germany but also at concerts in France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, England, and Portugal.

The program of Boogielicious is also extremely varied, ranging from classic boogie woogie, gospel, Latin, and jive to earthy blues and rock 'n' roll, from New Orleans and old-time jazz by Scott Joplin through Fats Waller and Oscar Peterson to Ray Charles. The audience can expect an exciting and entertaining evening that traverses the early history of blues, jazz, and swing. In short: Good mood music and a lot of joy in playing!
