With Martin Kälberer, all these instruments merge into a single large sound body. As if in a trance, he plays several instruments one after the other or even simultaneously, records them, plays others along, and thus builds his floating and pulsing soundscapes.

On his new album INTO THE LIGHT, the fusion of acoustic sounds and electronic tones is more intense than ever. With the rediscovery of some old analog synthesizers that had gathered a bit of dust in his sound archive over the years, a new window opened in Martin Kälberer’s sound cosmos. Just like a new dimension, the shimmering, rich, often pulsing electronic sounds expand the sound picture without being dominant or aggressive.
Everything remains spontaneous and handcrafted, intuitive and atmospheric.

“The Sepp Eisele Trio has its roots in the basement rooms of the Augsburg Reese Barracks. Since we have ended up privately as far as Bad Tölz, we meet once a week in Munich. There, we mix elements from jazz, Latin, and folk with a wink into improvisation-heavy, sometimes edgy original compositions, using certain effects devices where they originally don’t belong. The remaining question is: Who is or was Sepp Eisele? Some say a legend from Augsburg, some consider him the nephew of Jean Eisele Junior, while others think of him as a visionary. Come to our concert and hear for yourself!”

Conventional instruments do not exist in the music project her tree. Alexandra sings – and the forest takes care of the rest. Although you only occasionally hear the chirping of birds in the background, nature resonates in every layer of her music. The forest sounds at her tree less like noises and more like a mix of groovy pop and atmospheric indie-electronics.

After her debut album in 2021, which she recorded over four years in Europe's forests, the second album was released in the summer of 2025. This time, Alexandra traveled to Peru, deep into the jungle, accompanied by a primatologist who guided her through the dense jungle. There, she captured countless sounds – raw material that later became the basis for new, organic music.

Together with producer Max Spindler, she transformed nature into a "play box for producing instruments." With the field recorder, she captured the sounds, which then formed bass, drums, and synthesizers – precisely constructed from the textures of the environment.

This creates music that unites nature and modern electronics: two seemingly opposing forces that find surprising harmony at her tree.

From 04.09. - 31.10.2026, the Pfalzmuseum will showcase the special exhibition "In the Forest II" by artist Harald Winter. A small floodplain forest near Kirchehrenbach, with its tangle of trees, branches, and twigs, which also reflected in the water, inspired Harald Winter. It presented him with a real artistic challenge. Since then, he has been captivated by the theme, and his studio is filling up with large-format charcoal and pastel drawings with edge lengths of up to 2.10 m.

The her tree concert takes place as part of the special exhibition "In the Forest II." The concert ticket also serves as an entry ticket for the exhibition.

Square the circle– Luis Reich feat. Richard Ojijo & Annie Blochs luvt

"Square the Circle" connects song structures, ambient music, electronic sound art, and spatial sound into an immersive concert experience. In the St. Bonifatius Church in Frankfurt, a unique listening space is created: A quadraphonic speaker system surrounds the audience and makes the unique architecture of the church an active part of the music. The clear, generous spatial structure and the great acoustics of St. Bonifatius create ideal conditions for an intense communal listening experience.

At the center is the quadrophone concert program "Square the Circle" developed by ambient musician Luis Reich, enhanced by the live electronics of Richard Ojijo and Annie Bloch's luvt program, which combines the sound of the chamber organ with electronic and experimental elements. Between pop music, sacred sound tradition, contemporary music, and improvisational moments, a concert format emerges that opens new forms of listening.

Luis Reich processes sounds and fills spaces with them. He uses live sampling, instrumental motifs, and analog sound carriers as raw material for electronic transformation processes. Reich represents artistic ambient music that creates its lo-fi aesthetic in the spontaneity of the moment. Numerous collaborations (including Reich & Würden, Sono Kollektiv) form a musical background noise from which his quadrophone solo program SQUARE THE CIRCLE stands out.

Richard Ojijo – composer, lecturer, and sound engineer with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. Ojijo specializes in live performances and studio productions, leads workshops at institutions such as the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, and has held a lecturing position at the Institute for Pop Music at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Bochum since 2014. Richard Ojijo is also known as a live engineer and producer for artists including Patrice, Modeselektor, Joy Denalane, Moderat, GAS...

luvt (from luven = to turn into the wind, from Luft)
In the luvt project, organist and songwriter Annie Bloch dedicates herself to the wooden sound space of the chamber organ. The instrument, primarily used in Baroque music, is a wooden chest that houses four rows of wooden pipes connected to a bellows, which are controlled by a keyboard. Limited to only these four registers, which resemble each other in their flute sound, a space for detailed listening to the intermediate tones opens up. By incorporating electronic manipulation, luvt lifts the instrument from its context. The acoustic experience of the warm pipe sounds blends with its electronic amplification and alteration, creating a stage for the felt and experienced.

The East Berlin musicians Sebastian and Daniel Selke present as Brueder Selke their album and concert film “Voices in Prague,” based on their internationally acclaimed performance at the “Spectaculare” in the Czech capital. Until 1989, dictatorial socialism also shaped the everyday lives of the Prague residents, who confronted the constraints of life with creativity. On a historically similar wavelength, Brueder Selke exploratively delves into the potential of classical and electronic instruments. The result is electronic chamber music from the prefabricated building for fans of Martin Kohlstedt, Dustin O'Halloran, or Nils Frahm. By listening to the voices of their playing partners, textures and song structures become complex, recognizable entities. Each tone purposefully yearns and thoughtfully seeks social change in a time full of contradictions to overcome separation and confrontation. Thus, every encounter, every exchange with the artists, becomes a surprisingly familiar experience that inspires and moves.

With "Inner Sound," guitarist and sound artist Stefan Grasse takes the audience into shimmering acoustic-electronic sound worlds. His guitar merges with effects and samples to create atmospheric soundscapes that fluctuate between delicate solo pieces and pulsating, multilayered compositions. As a musical storyteller, Grasse captures natural moods and connects outer landscapes with inner images. Inspired by the namesake Scottish fjord, near which he lived for a year, "Inner Sound" symbolizes the transformation between sea and land – a picture of the constant metamorphosis of his sound universe. Memento Odesa is a moving musical project by Sebastian Studnitzky, created in the summer of 2023 in collaboration with the Chamber Orchestra of the Odesa Philharmonic under the direction of Volodymyr Dikiy. In the midst of the ongoing war, the recording became an artistic homage to the resilience and courage of Ukraine.
Sebastian Studnitzky is among the most versatile musicians in Germany. As the only artist to have received both the ECHO Jazz and the Opus Klassik awards, he represents an extraordinary connection between jazz, classical, and improvised music. This project marks the culmination of his years of work as a composer and performer—a fusion of neoclassical, jazzy, and cinematic elements into a distinctive artistic vision. The work combines orchestral depth with personal expressiveness and invites a moment of reflection, remembrance, and hope.

It could have been a cold winter day or a warm summer night in Finland – it was certainly around the year 2010. Someone had the idea to combine bluegrass, Finnish folk music, and rock/metal. The result was and has since been Steve'n'Seagulls. The band you didn’t know you missed, but now you definitely want to hear again. Originating from Finland in Northern Europe, this cheerful group is faster and more successful than ever before. In short: In 2014, the band filmed three live music videos on their farm. The second one, their new and fresh interpretation of the AC/DC classic Thunderstruck, took the internet by storm. Suddenly, this seagull gang was touring the world, recording an album, and touring more intensely than ever. Since 2014, Steve'n'Seagulls has recorded four studio albums. Their debut album “Farm Machine” (2015) took the band to 170 concerts in Europe and North America. They rocked and thrilled their audience from small clubs to some of the largest festivals in Europe. In 2025, the long-awaited fifth album from Steve'n'Seagulls will finally be released: “The Dark Side of the Moo!”. Es hätte ein kalter Wintertag oder eine warme Sommernacht in Finnland sein können – irgendwann um das Jahr 2010. Jemand hatte die Idee, Bluegrass, finnische Folkmusik und Rock/Metal zu kombinieren. Das Ergebnis war und ist seitdem **Steve ’n’ Seagulls** – die Band, von der du nicht wusstest, dass du sie vermisst hast, von der du aber weißt, dass du sie unbedingt wieder hören willst. Aus Finnland im Norden Europas stammend, ist diese gut gelaunte Truppe heute schneller und kraftvoller unterwegs als je zuvor.
Kurz gesagt: 2014 drehte die Band drei Live-Musikvideos auf ihrem Bauernhof. Das zweite davon – ihre frische Interpretation des AC/DC-Klassikers „Thunderstruck“ – ging viral und eroberte das Internet im Sturm. Die Seilschaft - Ungefiltert

After their successful acoustic tour, Die Seilschaft returns in 2027 to their fundamentally honest, electric band sound. With the title - UNGEFILTERT - the band around frontman Christian Haase presents a set that bridges deep tradition and powerful renewal.

unadulterated - raw - UNGEFILTERT, this is how Die Seilschaft presents itself in 2027:
The band consciously opts out of polished performances and instead focuses on the power of direct encounters. For fans, this offers a unique opportunity: They can be up close and live when new, yet-to-be-released songs take shape unfiltered and later find their way onto the new album after the tour.

Despite this forward-looking perspective, the band remains true to its roots. Anyone spending an evening with Die Seilschaft is also aware of the significance of Gundermann's musical heritage. His songs continue to form the resonant core of the nearly 3-hour set list in 2027. The TATORT theme song “Überlebe wenigstens bis morgen” will be part of the program, as well as “Gras” or “Linda” - those classics that became known at the latest through the award-winning GUNDERMANN feature film.

In a unique Die Seilschaft-style Rock&Folk attitude, those classics breathe real vitality far removed from today's 3-minute AI pop songs, going well beyond dusty nostalgia. Together with the songs from the successful album DEIN PAKET, a consistent evening is created that has reflected the spirit of several generations for years and brings people together. Die Seilschaft effortlessly demonstrates that one can honor their own history without being stuck in the past.

Two drummers, Sakiko Idei and Achim Seyler, in a concert not only for listening with images
not only for seeing. From Minimal Music to everyday sounds to virtuosic chamber music, visually and acoustically staged. Since 2018, drummer Achim Seyler, who lives in the area, has been bringing contemporary music to the region. In various combinations, with local and regional companions, the broad spectrum of current art, which is usually only heard in metropolises or specialized festivals, finds its place in the cultural program.

This time with the Japanese drummer Sakiko Idei, who lives in Trier, as well as
projections of images and film sequences. A connection of listening and seeing for
immersing, losing oneself, and rediscovering...

Martin Kohlstedt - Special Unseated Clubshows featuring Aline Patschke on Drums

Having long outgrown neoclassicism and turned towards electronic music for years. With an ear to the soundtrack, symphonic forms that are broken through synthesis and held together by improvisation: Martin Kohlstedt is part of the global forefront of artists who manage to find a common form for influences from different worlds and create a living body from it - as a multidimensional film soundtrack, an immersive album experience or a spectacular concert.

For the first time in his career, Martin Kohlstedt will perform unseated club concerts. As an exception to the rule, as an event. In selected clubs, with limited capacity, with lots of pressure and: with special accompaniment.

Aline Patschke has been studying drums at HMT Leipzig since 2020. She writes her own music and plays in various band and solo projects. The multi-instrumentalist works at the intersection of music, theater, and performance. Her openness to experiments and transdisciplinary work makes Aline Patschke not only one of the most exciting drummers of her generation but also the ideal conversation partner on stage for Martin Kohlstedt's modular improvisations.

Black Forest Percussion Group. Narrow Sea: Wo ist Heimat?

What does home mean? Is it a place, a feeling, or a longing? With their program Narrow Sea, the Black Forest Percussion Group dedicates itself to this universal question. Curated by Lee Ferguson, the program brings together works by Caroline Shaw, Matt Ulery, Hector Rufaro Mugani, and Erik Griswold, which tell stories of hope and departure, fear, loss, and the desire for belonging.

At the center is Caroline Shaw's Narrow Sea for percussion quartet, piano, and soprano. Together with pianist Elmar Schrammel and soprano Leonor Pereira Pinto, the piece unfolds an intense sonic world, in which the longing of the Sacred Harp texts becomes immediately tangible.

Griswold's Fear, Ulery's Emigre and Exile, and Mugani's Hurukuru NaNyamasase also approach the question of home in different ways. Together, the works create a multifaceted musical picture of home – as memory, longing, hope, and internal arrival.
