18. Grevenbroicher Gitarrenwochen - Rob Collins & Paddy Boy
The tube Rob Collins (born 1972) is at home in rock, pop & blues rock. He regularly toured with Martin Engelien's (Klaus Lage Band, Bröselmaschine, ...) "Go Music" sessions, has stood and continues to stand on stage with greats of rock history like Mel Gaynor (Simple Minds, ...) and is a permanent member of various bands in the Lower Rhine, with which he regularly makes the stages unsafe nationwide. His flexible and expressive voice captivates the listener, draws them in while also making the hall go wild. For several years now, he has been the new frontman of the German blues rock formation "Hot & Nasty."
Guitarist Paddy Boy (born 1982) has been active as a guitarist in various bands of different styles since the age of 14. He works full-time as a studio and live guitarist and gives private guitar lessons at his own school called "Paddy’s Gitarrenunterricht" in Mönchengladbach. His guitar playing is influenced by the blues, rock, folk, and fusion of his heroes Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Michael Landau, Neil Young, Robert Johnson, Lowell George, and Keith Richards. He has worked live and/or in the studio with/für Mars Saibert (Unter Uns, ZweiOhrKüken), Percival & Pamela Falcon (The Voice Of Germany), the soundtrack for the film "Ascension Day – Ausgelöscht," Bea Larson (WDR4), Miami Voice (Universal Records), the Blues Brothers Revival Band, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Uli Haider (Gunter Gabriel Produktion). He also records sounds for product reviews in the musician's trade magazine "tools4music" in the studio for devices from well-known companies like SPL, Rode, Shure, and Neumann. Paddy is an endorser for amplifiers from Roots and effect pedals from Sweetspot Guitars and DanDrive. The now-deceased guitar builder Tommy Metz built him a unique guitar model from his company Tommy’s Special Guitars a few years ago. Paddy can be heard on various guitars and on the banjo on the current album "On The Way To Memphis" by Chris Kramer & Beatbox & Blues. Together, the two professional musicians have been serving a mixed cover program of songs by The Who, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Rory Gallagher, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, CCR, The Doobie Brothers, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, J.
