Gayle Tufts - Please Don`t stop the Music
Gayle Tufts has been one of the most charismatic entertainers in the German-speaking world for decades. The American singer, actress, comedienne, and host delights her audience with a unique blend of music, wordplay, and cultural ease. Known from TV shows, major stage productions, and numerous live performances, she has established herself as a key figure in entertainment and is counted among the audience favorites in the German show business.
Among her many successes are: she was the first woman in the legendary Quatsch Comedy Club and was honored as a Quatsch Legend by Pro7. For over 25 years, she has been producing her own stage productions, is a regular guest on TV formats, and has shared the stage or camera with artists like Thomas Hermanns, Jasmin Tabatabai, Barbara Schöneberger, and Florian Silbereisen. Her appearance alongside Channing Tatum on the red carpet for the Magic Mike premiere in Berlin received particular attention. Currently, she is successfully playing the role of Dolly in Hello, Dolly! at the Theater Bremen, accompanied by the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
In her current program "Please Don't Stop the Music," Gayle Tufts, more powerful than ever, tells and sings the leading role of her own life - brand new stories, poetic, pointed, and in her unmistakable Dinglish, a mix of German and English. The evening spans from Brockton to Buffalo, Broadway, and Bielefeld, all the way to Berlin, addressing the seven nights that changed her life – a glance, a tone, a movement, and everything is different.
Charming, humorous, and with a lot of self-irony, she presents personal, profound, and surprisingly funny experiences. Glamorous, passionate, and pulsating, she tackles central themes such as self-realization, freedom, respect, and living in the here and now. Musically, she is accompanied by her stage partner, the award-winning film and television composer Marian Lux, whose accompaniment enriches the evening with great sonic diversity. Together, they offer newly interpreted classics, fresh songs, and surprising stories that excite and touch the audience. Gayle Tufts is an entertainer who reaches her audience with ease, depth, humor, and heart, making every show an unforgettable experience.
