„Momo“
Play based on the children's book classic by Michael Ende
For all aged 8 and up
Consol Theater

On the outskirts of the city, the world seems just fine for Momo and her friends – full of stories, imagination, and time. But suddenly everything changes: people rush through life, become cold, and lose what once made them happy. Behind this transformation are the eerie “grey gentlemen”, who secretly rob people of their lifetime.
With courage, heart, and the mysterious turtle Kassiopeia, Momo confronts this invisible threat – in a race against time to reclaim what really matters.

The Consol Theater from Gelsenkirchen has stood for lively, award-winning theater since 2001, particularly engaging with the life worlds of young people. With several new productions every year and performances in Germany and abroad, it combines artistic quality with cultural education and social interaction.

Lilly is a princess and to the annoyance of her governess Albertine, not as one would typically imagine a princess. Instead of gliding through ballrooms in a dress made of the finest silk and a glittering crown on her head, the two of them splash through the underbrush, as Lilly wants to participate in a sword fighting championship without her royal father's knowledge. But then robbers cross their path, and no matter how much Lilly tries to defend herself, she and Albertine end up without their luggage after this encounter. It comes in handy that they pass by a castle. What they don't suspect is that Prince Lucas, who lives in this castle with his father, is on the lookout for a bride and that all the princesses so far have failed to win his heart. Sleeping Beauty yawns too much for him, and he finds it silly that Cinderella constantly loses her shoe. He wants a princess he can talk to about sword fighting, someone like Lilly. Now one might think that the fairy tale ends with Lilly's arrival at the castle. But far from it, because before the happy ending can occur, there are still a lot of turbulent events. The court magician, Master Theobald, must regain his magical powers so that he can turn the king's enchanted servant back, and the strict secretary and the king must also be convinced that Lilly is truly a real princess. Yes, and then there's also this pea that keeps Lilly from sleeping well.

“Lilly und die Erbse” is a refreshing adaptation of the fairy tale classic “The Princess and the Pea” by Hans Christian Andersen, which with a lot of wit and energy shows that there is no such thing as "typical princess".

Lilly is a princess and to the annoyance of her governess Albertine, she is not what one typically imagines a princess to be. Instead of gliding through ballrooms in a dress made of the finest silk and a sparkling crown on her head, the two of them are struggling through the undergrowth, wet and dirty, as Lilly wants to participate in a sword fighting championship without the knowledge of her royal father. Ohren auf Ungarn!
Orgel, Stimme & Klavier

The concise title of this extraordinary evening refers directly to a visionary festival concept by the Düsseldorf conductor and composer Mark-Andreas Schlingensiepen, who passed away this year, and whose pioneering spirit we gratefully honor. In the Löricker church, a fascinating dialogue unfolds between organ and piano, unleashing the rhythmic primal force and the tonal diversity of Hungarian modernism. As the central organ piece of the program, Béla Bartók's monumental dances in Bulgarian rhythm will be performed, which, in the groundbreaking arrangement by Oskar Gottlieb Blarr, completely redefines the percussive facets of the organ. The dense instrumental arc leads from György Kurtág's intimate Bach arrangements through György Ligeti's extremely complex, sonorous etudes to the orchestral power of Franz Liszt's Ad nos-Fantasie. A vocal highlight featuring Bartók's rough folk songs refines this captivating, energetic journey beyond borders, which uncompromisingly opens the ears to new sound worlds.

There are people who are just too nice for this world. Jens Heinrich Claassen is one of them. He constantly thanks others, apologizes when he has said too many apologies, and carries the burden of wealth with a smile. Yes, you read that right: Claassen is rich – and really rich. But wealth alone, as we know, doesn’t bring happiness, at least not when one, like Jens Heinrich, views it with dry self-irony and a fondness for honest, small moments of life.
In "Keine Ursache," Jens Heinrich Claassen talks about the truly important things: surviving in a society where politeness seems to be a relic of the past. And of course, about life as a single person. This gets personal: Jens Heinrich would rather find his dream woman today than tomorrow, but the path is fraught with pitfalls. Tinder swipes, charmingly uncharming first dates, and the occasional melancholic piano melody accompany him along the way.
Between his stories, he sits down at the piano as if it were the most natural thing in the world to spontaneously conjure a song from absurd everyday situations. It is this mixture of lightness and profound humor that makes "Keine Ursache" an evening where one heartily laughs while also wondering why one hasn’t already laughed about these topics long ago.
Anyone wanting to experience an evening full of unexpected punchlines, catchy melodies, and a sympathetic comedian in top form should not miss this show. "Keine Ursache" – life could be so simple.
So: no cause – but a clear recommendation!
Jens
