Comedy by Peter Jordan, very freely based on Miguel de Cervantes
Just saving the world! No problem for the megalomaniac martyr Don Quijote, who fights against windmills and supposed barbarians as the "knight of the woeful countenance," driving his loyal companion Sancho Panza to despair. Has the man for whom Sancho left his home and farm completely lost his mind?
Torn between doubts, loyalty, and total exhaustion, Sancho decides to end the adventures and return home defeated. But then he realizes that Don Quijote's madness is just a facade...
In his very free adaptation of Cervantes' famous novel, the author Peter Jordan plays a wild game with genres and literary motifs, ideals, ideologies, and identities. Four people embody the most diverse characters in quick succession, sometimes knights, sometimes talking horses, sometimes corrupt state officials, until the confusion is complete. A tribute to the magic of theater under the hot Spanish sun.
