The trio Alligators of Swing combines the lightness of swing with the deep feeling of the blues and the power of boogie. The lovingly arranged songs from the 40s and 50s as well as their own compositions breathe the elegance that characterized Nat King Cole's Trio. They exude the charm of Ray Charles and the subtle humor of Louis Jordan – even in the often bizarre and ironic lyrics.

The musicians draw from a rich treasure trove of experiences: The Alligators have been around since 1989. At concerts and sessions in Chicago and elsewhere, they have proven to have an international level, performing together with artists such as Karen & Jeanne Carroll, Angela Brown, Carey Bell, Big Jay McNeely, and Big Time Sarah. In 2021, their sixth CD "The Bartender's just like a Mother" was released.

Büchner asks this question in his comic play "Leonce und Lena". With Woyzeck, he has created such a "least" individual.

Woyzeck, a soldier and barber, is humiliated by the captain and abused by the doctor for a "scientific experiment." He does it for money, which he brings to Marie, who has a child by him. Is it really his? Woyzeck is jealous of the drum major, with whom Marie is cheating on him. He tries to confront her and share his feelings with his friend Andres – but no one listens. He begins to hear voices. Disturbed and lonely, Woyzeck stabs his beloved Marie, and in the end, he kills himself along with her. WHY? Woyzeck does not know.

We imagine: Murderer & victim after the act. A conversation with the dead. A look into one's own abyss…

Samba Reggae Berlin
Once a month, percussionists from various Berlin and nationwide groups meet at the ufaFabrik to share their enthusiasm for samba reggae rhythms.

Bloco Explosao
This is the fiery samba percussion formation with playful and dance-loving people from Berlin and the rest of the world. Bloco Explosão, with its colors red and yellow, stands for joy of life, light, sun, but also for fire and explosiveness. In 2003, 2012, and again in 2019, we were among the award winners at the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin.
Bloco Explosão is happy to play again with Renato Pantera and band and has new pieces in the program.

Workshop as part of "Samba Made in Berlin" on November 15 & 16, 2024
Afro Samba, Samba Reggae, Samba Funk. These rhythms go directly into the body and invite you to swing along and dance.
The workshop is aimed at players with prior experience and a desire to move.

The Brazilian Roberta Paim, who grew up between Salvador de Bahia, São Paulo, and Minas Gerais, is a young "Maestrina" who began her musical journey very early with singing and classical piano in the 1980s in Brazil. When she arrived in Paris in 1999, her passion for culture, especially for Afro-Brazilian music, and the Blocos Afros intensified. She began her training in Brazilian percussion alongside such renowned Mestres as Mestre Marivaldo Paim (Ilê Aiyê - Salvador), Mestre Neguinho do Samba (Olodum/Didà - Salvador), and Mestre Bernardino José (Maracatu Nação Pernambuco - Olinda).

In 2002, Roberta Paim started her own project: the group Zalindê, a purely female percussion formation that impresses with choreography and percussive power.

Her strong personality, competence, and her very special, passionate working style make her a young producer who is valued and increasingly sought after by artists and other professionals in both the Parisian and Brazilian scenes.
Every year, she takes about 40 music enthusiasts to Salvador de Bahia to experience a unique and unforgettable percussion adventure.

The Ulm band plays rock and pop classics from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Pieces from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Deep Purple are just as much a part of the wide-ranging program as hits from Santana, Toto, Jethro Tull, and many more. They have built a loyal fan base and great popularity in the southern German region over more than 30 years on stage and are often referred to in the media as the "Ulm cult band."

Robbi & Friends stand for "honest" rock music, where every note is guaranteed to be played live. Whether in front of 1000 guests at a large event or at private celebrations, Robbi & Friends ensure a good atmosphere.

Maja Zade's comedy status quo shows the world as it is, just reversed: The object of desire and discrimination - in professional as well as domestic settings - is the man.
Women dominate everyday language and men receive compliments for their appearance. This is also the case for newcomer Flo, who is actually named Florian, but in a society where women are in charge, every Florian becomes Flo. He experiences different forms of sexism and abuse of power in his workplaces.

In three parallel stories, the playwright sends the likable Flo into the caves of lionesses and female employers: into a drugstore, a real estate agency, and the theater.

By reversing the real power dynamics and using pointed dialogues, Maja Zade's social analysis becomes a biting and funny satire. The trials of the three Flos make visible the absurdity of a power imbalance that has become so normalized that it is perceived as normal.

With guitar, harmonica, and uninhibited charm, Weiherer presents a kind of unprepared chat with musical interludes in his new program - as usual, spontaneous, witty, and straightforward. Somewhere between music cabaret, singer-songwriter, quirky stories, and political activism, the performances of the Lower Bavarian by choice are more rough-hewn craftsmanship than finely polished art, and his outrageously funny everyday observations have long been cult.

The courageous musician with a heart for madness and eccentricity has been singing spirited songs with a lot of dedication and often with truly honest anger for more than two decades. In the best folk singer tradition, he does not skimp on acerbic criticism and hearty sayings - mostly politically incorrect, often mercilessly funny, but always courageous. A fascinating mule head with the sly grin of a cunning trickster, intelligent lyrics, compelling music, and brilliantly biting humor.

Weiherer is a unique storyteller who effortlessly shifts from one topic to another without blinking an eye, and at the same time keeps his audience in cheerful albeit breathless suspense from the first to the last second. His statements and song lyrics reflect a sensitive and intelligent worldview; he is interested in the big picture, in looking and reaching out, even when it hurts. The listener is in the same boat as Weiherer, marveling at his navigational skills through all this madness. Through a world full of questions and without answers.

Winfried Frey and Ludwig Waldinger use original files from the Munich State Archives. What happened in Hinterkaifeck? Why was the murder case of Walter Sedlmayr more challenging for the investigators than other homicide cases? The combination of original documents and knowledge from the present time makes the uniqueness of the joint reading by the well-known Bavarian actor Winfried Frey and Chief Investigator Ludwig Waldinger. Step with them into the world of real crimes and get answers to the questions that come to your mind. And as a special treat, the two take their audience along on an investigation.

Political poetry and even cheerful? Isn't that yesterday's art? And doesn't our world situation demand different means? - These are questions that do not bother the humorist Marco Tschirpke.

Unperturbed, yet not carefree, he creates clearly contoured snapshots of current events in Germany. But his perspective has little in common with the opinion lottery of the average German citizen. He questions what others assume. And with his poems, he explores the general in the particular.

Historical figures and contemporary counterparts appear as well as shipping and space travel, friend and foe. He mocks green ministers and "Reich citizens," shows capitalist coldness the cold shoulder, and declares war on warmongering. A beam of comedy light illuminates those corners of existence that do not receive attention in public debate.

Marco Tschirpke has been publishing poems with punchlines since 2008. On the cabaret stages of the republic, he also reveals himself as a clever pianist and interpreter of his verses.
A double-digit number of cabaret awards adorns his resume.

»Hee Haw« - finally new songs from Mandowar!
In 2023, Mandowar sticks to their successful concept: cover hits with mandolin, bass ukulele
and guitar. Small instruments - big songs - big fun.

On the new album, Mandowar looks beyond the headbanger cosmos and makes Michael Jackson's
"Billie Jean" sound surprisingly hard. Mandowar likes to venture into mashups: Rage Against The
Machine meets Queen, Kiss meets Prince. Even wilder and more bizarre are the mixtures of The
Offspring, Lady Gaga, and Bon Jovi or Blur, Backstreet Boys, and Boney M.. Of course, reinterpretations of hard rock classics are also included: Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" from
1980 is there, as well as Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" and "Destroyer Rock City" by Kiss.

"The Joe must go on" - what else could the new album have been named?
"Life must go on" has been the band's motto since the release of their last album in 2015. They continued after the death of the band's founder Tom Launhard in 2016
just as they are now after the long drought of almost 100 canceled concerts due to the pandemic. Joe is the
name of the bassist. He spends performances almost motionless and without changing his expression.
Stoically, almost robotically, he conjures up amazing bass lines from his bass ukulele. Has Joe learned to walk now? "He even dances in the current program," emphasizes band leader Nils and promises
"Joe will become a monster".

This suggests that Mandowar's shows are much more than just concerts. "Their live program
has more laughs than many comedy shows and the atmosphere is more lively than at many Irish folk bands. People in metal shirts may embrace suit-wearers," explains their booker Olaf Menne.
Metal and rock turn into country, polka, hillbilly, bluegrass, or folk. Schlager quotes are also allowed.
A band that brings a lot of Hessian humor but always treats originals with great respect.
"We consider our versions as tributes to songs that mean a lot to us," explains Hofmann.

Despite fewer concerts and a long release break, their songs are streamed millions of times.
Spotify playlists like "Acoustic Rock Covers", "Country Metal", or "Fantasy Bard Songs"
frequently feature Mandowar songs, attracting new fans from around the world.
